To enable medical ultrasound images to be produced more quickly without degrading their quality, the CRASH research team at the Université de Sherbrooke has developed coding masks: innovative, irregularly shaped lenses that can be fitted onto ultrasound probes to improve their performance.
Coding masks can be used not only to produce high-quality ultrasound images more rapidly but also to widen the probe’s field of view so that larger parts of the human body can be imaged-a significant advantage for healthcare providers.
