In many states, the current Prior Authorization process causes costly delays in care, wasting resources, creating burdens for providers, and potentially endangering patients. Jill Ondatje, a financial access specialist at the University of Washington Medicine’s Financial Access Center, shares her experiences submitting prior authorization requests and acting as a bridge between clinics and insurance providers.

Finally! Someone who makes sense!. Far too often I hear the American Medical Association and other group saying that “we want to improve prior authorization“. I vehemently disagree. There’s no way to improve the abusive practice of prior authorization. I say prior authorization needs to be banished from America completely. It is an abhorrent and callous abuse of physicians who struggle all day every day to keep people from dying and to avoid premature disability and to alleviate suffering.

Prior Authorization have its goods and bad, Good side is that patients will save their cost and policy benefits but bad when it comes to patient in his first stage because patient may or may not show symptoms until its too late. As an Auth officer myself. I believe the Pre Auth system should be eliminated for people who have established medical illnesses so that not only that patient will live longer but the insurances can also earn from longevity premiums. It 80% No Auth vs 20% Yes
