IMPROVING REARVIEW VISIBILITY ON JEEP - Installing Wolfbox G840S Review Dashcam Mirror on Jeep JL/JT

In this video I will be installing the Wolfbox G840S Rearview Dashcam Mirror on my Jeep JL with the intention to improve my visibility behind the jeep. I will show all the steps it takes to complete the full replacement style installing, where you fully remove the stock more to give it a more factory finished look. I will also show you the basic features of the product and then give you my overall thought and opinion of the product.

You missed a part where you forgot to add sample videos from the Dashcam 😄, it would be really nice if you could add sample videos too in your future videos so that we get an idea of how the Dashcam performs during the day and night time.

A matte screen cover will make the display blurry. It's a dilemma i'm facing right now. keep it and not be so annoyed with the glare or remove it and adjust my mirror angle constantly depending on the time of day. Also when you get glare on the matte screen, it will make it more unviewable. So unfortunately, there is no one best solution. I am also looking into a mild polarizer to put on the lens because the glare at night from other vehicle lights can get annoying. I actually moved my camera to the top to reduce the glare which has helped but still not the best. Best of luck to your build.

The power button would be very useful when a big truck with bright leds gets on your tail at night. Be nicer if it was automated but one can dream.

Having a rear view mirror is mandated in all states so that's why all mirror substitutes must also revert to being an old style mirror.

Do you get any vibration in the rear camara? We have ours on top of the 3rd brake light and it a little and makes it hard to see.

So theres 1 big 15amp fuse wire 2 small 15amp fuse wires and 1 tiny 15amp fuse wire which 2 am i suppose to use for power and acc wires

I am not sure which one I used. I think I used the only one that would work with the jeep fuses.

Have you ever thought to mount the rear view camera to the front of the bumper as a front trail camera

I guess you could, but if I wanted a front mounted camera I would just add one to my radio.

Does the backup camera still work on the radio?

Yes, there are now two cameras on the back of the jeep, the stock one for the reverse camera in the radio and one for the mirror.

I just connected mine on my jeep. Followed your instructions and works. I have not connected the red cable that is that the end with the camera. Everything works good, but I noticed that my start/stop is not working. I'm wondering why my start/stop is not working. Could it be the way the power is connected on the fuse box?

Possible you might have to use a different fuse for your jeep.

Do the sun shades hit the mirror when you flip them down?

Yes they actually do hit depending on the angle you have the screen at. It's not a big deal for me.

You need to get the g930 as it’s 10” like the OEM the 900 and below are 12” so the visors will hit the mirror

Is the only front record time options 1,2,and 5 minutes? Can't it record continuously for a couple of hours at one time?

If you press the record button it will record it until you end it. Those options are just the interval that you can select for the monitor recording that happens when you drive.

I am not sure, but I can imagine it won't be great with that level of tint.

Nothing, this mirror doesn't use the factory reverse camera it needs its own one to capture the image from.bwhind the jeep.

@@adamrickett3305 the one from Amazon comes with a ball kit and an arm, but I am not sure if the ball kit will fit the jeep stock arm. I don't think it does, I'll check tonight or tomorrow and let you know.

So, you definitely need the universal ball joint, because the one that comes with the bracket is too small for the stock arm.

I followed the video for the fuses. I’m getting no power to the mirror. I used the same fuses. I use the cigarette outlet cord and the mirror worked. Still confused on what to do…?

If you're using the same fuse you need to make sure that the car is on for it to work. Does your jeep have heated seats? Cause you might have to have that to make it work.

@@evolvedjeepin yes, the car was on. I do have heated seats. I’m starting to think I was given faulty wires. Did you put the extra fuse into the adapter plug in from the hard wire set? I remember when installing the aux switch from auxbeam, I put the extra fuse in the adapter and then it worked. Not in my case with this one
