Improving the Mauser 98 Safety

The Mauser 98 has been sporterized throughout many decades. To further improve not only the aesthetics but also the safe functioning of a sporterized model 98 for hunting, I thought it would be useful to show sportsmen and hunters how to make this great action even more secure, and safer for the outdoorsman.

Very nice job and thank you for giving the Mauser some love....I absolutely love my 98 and this was the best add on I could of bought, mines a gentry 3 position and as well as a timny trigger.

I restored my dad's Argentine Cavalry Carbine for him about 7-8 years ago. Its a BEAUTIFUL carbine in a high B+ to A grade with original bayonet. At the time i had a hard time finding the ammo for it and the only 7.65x53 Argentine i could get was Prvi Partizan and unfortunately it keyholed at 50 yds. because the bullet was too heavy for the carbine. I got the 180 gr. and i guess it needs the 174gr. I know thats nit much difference but thats what i was told by someone else that has one. The bore is beautiful with strong rifling. It will be mine one day but i am in NO hurry to get it. I hope its not for a good long time, but i will get the lighter bullet when i do. Hopefully that fixes it. I havent seen lighter than 174gr.

Also, the Argentine crest is still on the receiver. I guess most of them were ground off before selling the surplus. I don't know why but his seems to have slipped through.
