Very nice job and thank you for giving the Mauser some love....I absolutely love my 98 and this was the best add on I could of bought, mines a gentry 3 position and as well as a timny trigger.

Nice job improving the 98 bolt. However, better light would have been nice so we could see the details of your conversion.

This is a very informative video. I'm currently installing a pair of Wisner side swing safety's on a sporterized 1936 Mexican in 7x57, and a 1908 Brazilian in 308 Winchester. If I may, I'd like to add a comment. You really should either get or make a set of soft jaws for your vise. I use a set of copper jaws and they make tasks a lot easier. Holding the parts with your hands while using a Dremel tool is less than optimal, not only because the parts can become hot, but if that Dremel slips it can walk right up your hand and give you some interesting scars. (I've already got more than enough scars on my hands already) Holding the parts in a vise with soft jaws is not only safer, but it gives you an additional rest to place your hands against while grinding for a steadier cut. Thanks for the video.

I also have a 1936 Mexican Mauser with Flaigs Ace 7x57mm medium contour 26" barrel, black walnut custom Sporter stock, Leopold scope mount and scope, welded bent bolt. My factory safety is not operational and I'm shopping around for safety's or Timney trigger with safety.

I restored my dad's Argentine Cavalry Carbine for him about 7-8 years ago. Its a BEAUTIFUL carbine in a high B+ to A grade with original bayonet. At the time i had a hard time finding the ammo for it and the only 7.65x53 Argentine i could get was Prvi Partizan and unfortunately it keyholed at 50 yds. because the bullet was too heavy for the carbine. I got the 180 gr. and i guess it needs the 174gr. I know thats nit much difference but thats what i was told by someone else that has one. The bore is beautiful with strong rifling. It will be mine one day but i am in NO hurry to get it. I hope its not for a good long time, but i will get the lighter bullet when i do. Hopefully that fixes it. I havent seen lighter than 174gr.

Also, the Argentine crest is still on the receiver. I guess most of them were ground off before selling the surplus. I don't know why but his seems to have slipped through.

I had to stop watching when you were using your hand as a human vise and cutting with the Dremel tool toward your palm.

That's is one ugly safety, it may be functional but, I think I'd stick with the bueler style if I couldn't afford the mod 70 style, that thing just looks horrendous
