I wish that I could play like this brother, he's become one of my favourites. I so look forward to your posts! His improvisation on 'Holy, Holy, Holy' was stunning to say the least. I'm writing this as I listen to this postlude, and he's blowing me away with his incredible use of jazz chords/riffs infused into the improvisation. How I wish I let my dad teach me jazz piano as a kid (dad was a noted jazz pianist in NYC) as I'd be a far better musician/organist like Patrick is. EXCELLENT playing!!!

The arrangement is both Glorious and gorgeous. The Lord blessed me to hear this performance live and YES it is heartbreaking to see and hear the "people noise" during this significant time of worship.

ABSOLUTELY GLORIOUS!!! This type of playing just inspires man's soul heavenward. I pray that I will reach God's full potential as an organist. I just want to know why there are always so many people talking & walking around @ this church. I think that people have to be taught that the prelu.de & postlude are parts of the worship service and they are to be respected. Its a time for reflection especially when you have such world renowned musicians as Patrick Alston, Evelyn Simpson-Currenton&others

I came to KZbin looking for Tony Monaco, tonight. I ended up listening to all of Alston's pieces. I'm not a religious person, but if he was playing at my local church, I'd be there every freaking Sunday. Hope you're still killin' it man.

I was thinking the exact same thing. How disrespectful toward God and the musician!

As the notes say, this is a postlude...the service is over. People are leaving and talking as they leave.
