As ALWAYS, stunning! Perhaps one of the most unappreciated stellar organists today due to lack of proper exposure. Patrick, I'm friends with many of the organ world stars on facebook and I ALWAYS share your videos. We've got to get you out there among those stars as you're one of them for sure! How I wish that I could play like you brother....

The link between console and pipe organ ( control stops, manuals and pedals ) use binary units( 0 and 1 ), and the console have probably MIDI interface. Piano Sound and B3 Tone Wheel organ, are sampled on a MIDI expander trigged by console

Can't you just hear all the choirs of Heaven singing with Patrick's music? Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, indeed!

I really wish there was a transcription of this (and most of everything else Dr. Alston does). My spirit is touched mightily hearing him play and it would be fun to do some personal playing on my pipe organ with this style. Thank you for sharing this.

Holy Moses! As soon as I saw this dude I knew what I was in store for, a great "black soul," stirring performance. But this exceeded all expectations. A truly immortal performance! I realize this is an improvisation, but I'm sure you are aware you have come up with an arrangement " for the ages," and have written down note-for-note, what came to your inspired mind and soul as you played, so lesser mortals can play this master full version from sheet music, copyrighted by you, although I feel God holds the copyrights, in essence; the work is just that glorious! As someone once declared: "God reserved the greatest tunes for Himself!" This video is a sui generis example of the above quote. Brother, if we could earn our way to Heaven, what you accomplished with this riveting and chilling performance would get you a free first-class class ticket for entrance inside those " pearly gates!" I know it does not work that way, but just saying. I hope the Divine Creator of All Things grants you those extra years to continue your illustrious work. Augustus Montague Top- lady who wrote the lyrics for ROCK OF AGES only lived to the age of 38, so who knows what the future holds. We only know who holds the future.

Jennifer Quinones99 It’s a church organ, but Rodgers and also Allen have different voicing options, and theater organ is one of them. I don’t know but maybe that Rodgers has something built in to be able to make it sound like a Hammond. With an Allen, you can maybe have at least 4 or 5 different organ stop options, based on a theater organ, an English Cathedral organ, etc., with their own separate stop lists, so you have an instrument that is at least 3 or 4 organs in one (which come with it, and other ones that are optional.)
