Loved it. Had an ARP Odyssey when I was sixteen (80), wanted a Polymoog to pair with but prices were crazy

I have been hooked on the Polymoog since i first heard it. the band Saga made me fall in love with synths, and they made me fall for the Polymoog and Minimoog

Fantastic. I am also a Progressive Sound composer and appreciate the quality and creativity of your sound. I'm a fan of tracks generated with the help of sequencers. Your Music inspired me and took me to a transcendental space. Congratulations!

There is NOTHING like the Polymoog, nothing comes even close. I can’t believe I sat here and listened to the whole thing. I was mesmerized by the constant variation in sound. I also have a 203A and use it on so many recordings/videos. At any given time you can turn up the Mode filter, or the Resonators, or the VCF, or Direct, and get a completely different sound. Epic!!!!

I really enjoyed listening to this composition, a pleasure watching someone play the Polymoog so skillfully.

Wow, that Polymoog makes all the difference in the world. Its tone is so rich it just raises the sonic quality level several orders of magnitude higher. It really completes your sound. And the Prodigy ... you nailed that sound too. Perfect in the mix.

Unfortunately I am not into beats. And in my opinion it is much harder to make something interesting without relying on beats.

@@attorks I understand your thinking here, but I think it would be worth exploring incorporating some rhythms to back your works. I think some really unorthodox percussion could really add a lot to this one. Really fantastic programming. You have a lot of great toys and you use them musically. Rare on KZbin.

A treat for the eye & ear! More please, when you have time. Good job on the Polymoog too. The Prodigy sounds so smooth. I recently bought a Braids as well in 5U from FSFX. The S.E.M. is still out of reach for me but is on the list. Nice setup Martin. Always good to hear from you in your magic room.
@attorks7 жыл бұрын
Thanks David. I still am convinced that 5U is the right format for me but I also have got to admit that Eurorack is the place where it is all happening. So I think I am going to buy some Eurorack modules which are not available (for a reasonable price) in 5U. I very like the Mutable Instruments modules and the Serge's from Random*Source.
@davidryle7 жыл бұрын
Yes absolutely, you are on the right track. I have a small but useful collection of eurorack which takes me a bit further in a tangential direction than what I would go with the 5U. They integrate only as well as your choice or path or desire takes you.

Can I ask you something Martin.... how do you like the sound of the KRK Rokit 5's for the kind of music you play? Thanks.
@attorks6 жыл бұрын
Well, they are OK but not spectacular. I mostly use headphones and when I have the KRK's switched on I feel that I am missing information. They sound a bit muffled.
@LarsBjerregaard6 жыл бұрын
I figured that, they're quite cheap also. But do they have a resaonably flat response, so that what you're hearing from them is reasonably close to the tonal balance of the actual music, even if not very detailed and muffled?
@attorks6 жыл бұрын
Yes, they are reasonably flat, perhaps the mids could be some less.

@mgregory222 жыл бұрын
I like this a lot! I think Polymoog sounds very striking, very unusual. It sounds like it has a chorus effect on it, but that must be the sound of stacked oscillators. I don't think Moog ever made a chorus effect, did they? No, only Roland would do such a thing.

2.5 minutes of getting dizzy before seeing you play 🤔...why background music for the playing?
@geoffk7772 жыл бұрын
It's a nice improv, but the PolyMoog itself doesn't add that much to it. It could have been replaced by almost any analog polysynth with a similar brass/string patch. In fact, it was mostly played almost monophonically, and when you switched to the Prodigy, it actually sounded richer and fuller than the PolyMoog. The PolyMoog is shown off best in compositions that use thin tones with lots of harmony that can exploit its rather thin character, but unlimited polyphony. It's an interesting instrument, but rather disappointing to play compared to a Prophet, Oberheim or other, more conventional polysynth.
@royacongrejo4081 Жыл бұрын
I disagree - I own a Polymoog very long, it has such a typical sound which I never found at any other synths (and I had many).
