Like what you did there. Few Qs. How easy is cleaning these & how good does it keep humidity (dont know if the room is controlled r not) Definitely going to look at adding tile to my next DIY. Those pads the 20watt ? Thx for sharing & looking good.

Thanks, yes they hold humidity very well as I have a wooden tank with water fountain that holds water. It has been running for 6 years with no issues. I can take a drawer out and hose it down when doing a full spring clean. Otherwise I can have a nice damp substrate in the rack with the top layer being on the drier sidedepending in the occupant. The heating pad is the 20w just remember if in the enclosure we recommend a tile almost twice the size of the heat pad and only silicone it down once tried and tested. I just do it as I have tested it many times.

Can melamine (with the waterproof coating) be used ? Super awesome video, Thank you.

Sorry I missed this. Yes, it will work but raw chip board doesn't look very nice unless you are going to use a colour pigment in the poolcoat then it wouldn't matter and you could have any colour rack or boards. I just love shutter board as you only have to coat one side. Chipboard you would have to do both to make it last and I would use poolcoat on melamine boards as it may not bond well.

Which material did you use to insolate the heatpads underneath ?
@reptilegarden4 жыл бұрын
To be honest with you I am not sure what it is called but it is made by a company that does insulation, nonwoven cover a etc for furniture. So I assume it is some type of filter media. So any thing insulating would work but I also chose it as it is not flammable etc. I can't even think of where to buy it as I had it laying around. Sorry I can't give further info on it. If I find anything I will be sure to post.
