My daughter and I were at one of your Sunday sessions during the most recent Elvis Week. I wish I could have been at every one of them. You all seem like regular people like me, you treated us with such kindness, and although I haven’t had the opportunity to get to know you on a personal basis, you have my friendship for as long as you care to have it. Your memories and stories are precious and historically important. I’m 62 and have a very functional memory and mental capacity, and I use this every day in my profession. However, my memories from years ago often run together and, without realizing it, become confused. Sometimes I see actual documentation of something that happened years ago, and it slaps me in the face because it was not exactly the way I remembered it. I say that to say this…MEMORIES FADE! PLEASE WRITE A BOOK! I know you can’t cover everything in these Q & A sessions, so being able to read about as many of your memories as possible would be such a huge blessing. For me, just like you and Elvis, I grew up in the South, so I always try to learn things about Elvis’ life that I may have in common with him, whether they are things that motivated him, personal beliefs, uniquely Southern experiences such as snipe hunting, food, eating habits, religious beliefs, cars, interests, or any other thing that may seem insignificant to you. I reckon it is a way to relate to him. For him to come from a background with similarities to mine, and then to do what he was able to do in his short life, gives regular people like me encouragement that we can excel too. Also, if there are future movies to be made about Elvis that the movie makers want to be as accurate as possible, such a book would be very important, especially if it could be turned into a screenplay. I would love to see a historically accurate movie about Elvis, which includes an accurate account of the dynamics of all the relationships in his life, and not just a partially contrived visualization of his relationship with Colonel, as was the case with the most recent movie. You would probably leave a larger inheritance to your family as well. I wish all y’all well, and as always, I look forward to your next video.

There’s rumors of Billy and Jo writing a book. Jo did say that even if they were to write a book the stuff that Elvis did entrust them with would not be written anyplace. Elvis trusted them and they would never betray that trust. Billy and Jo know what Elvis would not want told. Billy and Elvis had a pack between them. It will not ever be spoken. I can’t imagine ever pouring water on Elvis to waken him. I would be fighting mad if anyone did that to me. I would never do that to anyone. If it made Elvis mad it would be righteous anger. I can’t imagine anyone being so disrespectful to Elvis.

@@gracieg7601 Yes, I would never want anyone to betray Elvis’ trust, whether in a book, or in any other way. There have just been so many inaccurate things said and written about Elvis, many out of context, and many just plain hurtful. Since Elvis passed, there have been many that have tried to capitalize off of Elvis’ name by writing sensationalized or untrue things. Billy and Jo know the truth about things, and can set the record straight on much of the nonsense out there. If any book about Elvis is done with honesty, with the events portrayed placed in proper context, if it is done with respect for Elvis, and if it is a true labor of love, then I do not, in any way, begrudge the author making money from it. I think Billy and Jo knew Elvis as well as anyone, and in some ways, much better than anyone else. A historically accurate book written by them, if done right, and including a complete history from day one, would be the best thing anyone could do to help preserve Elvis’ legacy. They could even come out with multiple volumes, for example, volume one could be from birth to the last day in Tupelo, and including stories about various family members. Volume two could be from leaving Tupelo to the point of Elvis going in to record “That’s Alright Mama.” Volume three could pick up there and go through the army years. Volume four could take the reader through the movie years. Then volume five could cover the rest. They could hire a ghost writer who would write out their memories and stories so they wouldn’t have to actually type out the words. Billy and Jo could maintain complete control of the project. It would just take a lot of time on their part. It would be amazing!

Lol. That's me asking the question at 19:36 about Elvis meeting Clint Eastwood. I was a little nervous and had so many questions that I wanted to ask but I had to keep it short and brief and ask something simple. Visiting Graceland was a life long dream and meeting you all was a special bonus and memory that will remain with me for the rest of my life. It was a great Q&A session and thank you for everything you do for us fans from all over the world. Best regards from Australia.

the ‘22 movie was my introduction to Elvis, believe it or not. I just turned 65. I knew the most popular songs, but knew nothing about him. Never saw his movies. The movie was a spectacular production, great costumes, music, etc. but I knew it was barely skimming the surface. Been devoted to my Elvis studies for the past year (haven’t read ALL the books, there are some doozies out there). What a special human being he was, he’s brought so much joy and sadness to my life - and millions more. Finding EFM and MMK have been such great resources for first hand accounts of him. Really grateful to your family for your generosity in sharing. Went to Graceland last April, loved Memphis. Kinda felt like I was intruding in his house, but was very moved by the burial place in the garden. Even better was visiting Tupelo and the birthplace. It was a very moving experience. Hey, I think I saw Danielle setup ata table by the hardware store. Didn’t know who she was at the time, but thought I remembered her face once I found your videos. Or am I completely wrong? 😅. Im rambling here, but thanks and love to you all.

Thank you for all the stories. Love hearing them, although I lived through the Elvis years and followed him and have heard all these stories before. The one thing I noticed was, when someone is doing a presentation, a person doesn’t get up and walk in front of them. They walk around the back of the room, to leave the room. Very professional except for that.

I am glad I listen to these videos for many reasons. Billy and Jo are warm authentic people. I appreciate the the truth about the Elvis movie. Thanks for being so straight forward, Jo! and Billy!!I don't blame you. Vernon and Gladys presented themselves so dignified in the short clips we have of them. Gladys has always been precious to me for several different reasons. How sad that most people will defend what they believe is truth after they see such a movie. It has caused me question other movies supposedly based on truth. OH my!! Other movies do not tell the truth about peoples lives. But thanks to you, I am not going to go into a dream world in a movie and think it is truth because it may or may not be. I know why a certain other person is so hurt who was portrayed so different in a movie as to what happened after I read quite a bit about what really happened. I guess there is not much people can do other than what you are doing. LOL IT helped me see the light!

Dear Billy, most of us don't get to go to the session in person and when we listen to them, it is very hard to understand what all is being said. The people that are there are going in and out of the room constantly and on top of that the door makes a noise every time it is opened and shut. They move around a lot. It's already hard bc they cough and clear there throats but a lot of them whisper and talk amongst themselves while a question is being asked or when you are answering a question. I wish they would be more respectful. We get to hear less that 30 minutes, these are not children and one would think that they could be still and quiet for 30 minutes. Also, is there a better set up or a way to block out the noise in the room where we can just hear the person asking the question and where we can just hear your response and/or Jo's. I am not trying to be negative, it's just that we people out here that have to listen via youtube want to be able to hear the question and answer clearly. I don't know if technology could help in that way or maybe a set of rules for those that attend. I mean You and Jo give of your time and we appreciate it so much. Before the session begins, can there be signs outside the door and a person telling people to go to the bathroom before it starts and have some rules listed before they go in and then someone go over the rules before it starts. I think a class of 4th graders would move around less and be more quiet and attentive. Rules like: please got to the bathroom before it starts, do not get up once the session begins, turn off all cell phones, no talking amongst yourselves, I mean we hear people whispering to each other and carrying on a conversation, try to be as still and quiet as possible. If you go to youtube and watch these back, you will see what we are talking about. I also read some other comments discussing these matters. Anyway, we appreciate you and Jo for doing all that you do for the Elvis Fans. You are both so awesome. I just wish that some of the fans acted like we all matter. Thank you so much for listening and we hope we get some conversation and feedback on this matter. Thank you.

I've been a true Elvis fan my whole life, my family although Elvis fans they haven't been diehard fans like me so when the movie (with the Butler guy) came out, I told them as the movie was playing, that's not true, that didn't happen, that's not even close to what happen. They all liked it and I HATED it. I dont see how a true Elvis fan could've liked that movie. As far as I'm concerned it was complete trash and lies. I explained this to my family but without me telling them the truth, they would've believed it all and it's a shame the younger generation is gonna believe the movie and the older generation too who doesn't know a lot about Elvis. I sincerely hope Billy and Jo get to make the Ultimate Elvis movie with the way it truly was.

It's "Midnight" and I miss you, a song by Elvis to where he says "Listen Cilla"...I just listened to this out of curiosity. Do you think Elvis was broken hearted by Priscilla leaving that you all maybe thought he wasn't (the mafia that is)? Was there a threat to Elvis to marry Priscilla or be exposed for dating a 14 year old? To me it seems like he wanted her for himself from the time he met her. He was raised under Christian values through his mother right. There's so many books and stories about him crying for instance not wanting to marry her...what's the true and what is made up? It's all really sad to me. Your thoughts?

This business of criticizing every detail in the movie is so tiresome. There's not a movie that's ever been made that could get every detail historically perfect, for the simple reason that the timeline has to be changed in the interest of time and moving the story forward. Even Bohemian Rhapsody, which was produced by Brian May, who lived it, had a lot of incorrect details. When asked about it, he said, the movie has to tell the story and this was a better way - words to that effect. No one claimed that this was a documentary, and it wasn't supposed to be. Also, Priscilla did not have a lot of input at all. She met with Baz for lunch and asked him to send her the script, but he never did. Baz and his crew had an office at Graceland, and he was doing research there for four years, and had access to the archives and Angie Marchese and anything else he wanted. I wish people would understand that film making is an art, and even documentaries very often get facts wrong - I've seen many. Watching the Elvis movie, I saw right away the "mistakes" in the timeline and locations of events - but it was a great movie, and brought new fans and respect. I know that scene didn't happen in the hallway, but you have to keep the story moving. Also, I don't think that Billy and Jo (and I love them both) would ever be satisfied with any movie about Elvis. They were too close to him and experienced it all from the inside.

The Elvis movie wasn’t a biopic so I understand that every situation wasn’t exactly as it really happened. I don’t understand way Jo feels so much dislike towards Priscilla. Jo as a wife wanted Billy to be home and complained if he was gone too long. I love Elvis and have been a fan but he was also a man and made mistakes as a husband as all husbands do. What wife is okay with a Cheating husband. Yes…Priscilla knew what she was getting into but should she deal with it?
