i do think scott didn't think about that at the beginning, but as a writer you are always considering the thematic consequences of what you're writing. scott, while it may often seem like he isn't, IS trying to write a story with meaning, and that can affect details of the story. it's admittedly circumstantial and secondary evidence, but it is evidence.

Calling "Dave" The Bite Victim or Crying Child would still be used in the fandom because it just shows who we are talking about rather than saying Dave, which was William's alias in The Silver Eyes. Scott could have put thought into these names once he had more of a story planned or he just randomly chose names because he liked the sound of them. Especially for "Mike", Jeremy, and Fritz in the beginning.

As far as the name mike not being picked for its meaning in FNAF 1 I completely agree with you, as for the other names and the confirmation of who we are playing as in most of the games is (by FNAF 4&5) just being picked could still be true but I think Scott would have thought about giving some connection between sibling by how they are named by then, especially important characters.

William considering the crying child "beloved" is not logical, because he considers 2 of them literal test subjects of sorts, i doubt he'd care about the crying child either, in fact, i think he ESPECIALLY doesn't care about the crying child, he wasn't there to stop the bite or even the bullying.
