Suggestion for the blank permits: Since you, Pearl and Gem are surrounding this lake, how about you three build a "black market" on the bottom of the lake? Inside this place you can have flea market stalls where anyone can sell anything (a bit like in Hunger Games) and at the entrance you hang these permits named "Permit for everything" and "Permit for everyone". It's a bit poetic since it's at the backside of the Permit Office, and your portal will be the "legit" reason for why people visit the lake. The server has become way too calm and peaceful. Time for someone to start stirring the pot, and you know that you three will be the perfect trio to start some trouble.

@@emmaporter8160 The reason for 14 is that the change from 13 to 14 can be read by a comparator. You get a signal strength of 1 with 1 item in the pot, and then 2 with 14 items, so to read 12 some other method will need to be figured out.

Idea for the blank permit: Start a counterfeit permits black market in the cyberpunk city using the blank permit as the counterfoil. The truth is that you're photocopying it with an old printer so all the copies are a little wanky. You could have a custom model as well of poor imitations of the permits.

In the Touch Grass instructions, on headphones I'm hearing a little audio glitch right before "short grass" that makes it a little hard to catch the word "short". And I've seen other hermits misunderstand that rule in their videos. Seems like around half the hermits think all the blocks are in play.

Another thought for the nether portal could be a giant beanstalk. It would give some green nature vibes, and fitting for the area and to add height for the portal. With some strategic placement of leaves it could help hide the Permit Office and be a bit of fun parkour.

Imagine a black market beneath the lake behind the greenhouse shops, right next to gems trident and coral shops. The entrance is through a soup restaurant on the pier (callback to the soup group from season 9) where a secret door takes you to the “suspicious soup market.” People could sell items illegally with no permits and the whole thing could be run by the SNAILS!! The mischief would make for some fun videos and then we’ll have a court case also!

If you're fishing only the grass and in 1 go, then it holds up, so if you're bad at the game then you've got a higher chance of the rod breaking, which could be turned into a feature. also it would mean changing the format of what happens to the fishing rods afterwards, unless the plan is to also destroy the enchanted fishing rods

Bdubs has Podzol & Mycelium! I bet you could rent out space to him since that's similar to grass. If you want dirt in the shop, Doc seems to have that. Hypno has coarse dirt, which would work well too. Iskall seems to have the cut grass, but he said he wanted to make a tower for all his stuff. Still worth asking though so he can put a temporary set up! Cub also has Nylium, if you think that might work.

You could use the blank permit to sell Blocks of Air. 1 diamond per stack, and the chests/barrels are just empty. Would be quite funny, and you can't really get in trouble with the Permit Office because you're not 'actually' selling anything. Would make for a good court episode too if they sued you for selling nothing lol. Or selling a Blank Space Block, again just an empty space, so people can have open spaces in their builds 😂

The permits could be diamonds and diamond blocks in a black market auction house. People put down Shulker boxes named with the objects diamonds are selling for (example: 1 diamond sells for 1 stack of grass so the Shulker would be named “1 stack of grass” and filled with diamonds, or 1 diamond block sells for 1 stack of tnt so it would be filled with diamond blocks and named “1 stack of tnt” etc.) you could even have a “scalpers” section where people put barrels down and place large amounts of diamonds in them to exchange for Shulker boxes of items. Then people that visit could potentially make some money by going back and grab things that are just lying around in their storage. Would also help others with resources too

If I know my minecraft correctly, you can farm grass (not automated). If you use two dirt and two gravel (which you can get from bartering), you get four coarse dirt, which can then be turned into normal dirt, essentially duplicating dirt, which can then be put next to a grass block, which will turn the dirt into grass. EDIT: I forgot to say that you need to turn the coarse dirt into a path so it becomes dirt when broken

OR! change it to some common action, like "permit to mine blocks" and then go find someone mining and ask if they're allowed to do that. you could make a bit out of it, maybe swindle them into giving you a little something something. u know :D

Ik you guys kinda figure the portal design out but while you were talking two really interesting idea popped into my head for it. The first one is like an archway over the lake (possibly made out of water) and have the portal hanging down from it. The second is a water geyser with the portal on top.
