Malcolm Marshall was lightning quick in 1982. Compared to that, this clip of Imran here is barely fast medium. But he was a tremendous bowler, no doubt.

Imran apni bowling aur batting dono kay balbootay par team main khel sakta tha. Sirf Shakib Iqbal aur Andrew Flintoff aisay all rounders hain jo batting ya batting dono zabardast kar saktay hain.

Marshall was very quick too. Fastest probably was Holding for consistent pace. Sylvester Clarke was very quick too. And so on. In 1982, Fred Trueman in commentary said the following after Imran Khan twice hooked Bob Willis for 4, " Problem for England is their fastest bowler is a yard and a half slower than Imran Khan. They can't hook Imran Khan, he keeps knocking helmets off, so they try to get back by bouncing him. And Imran Khan says thank you very much and puts these bouncers away. What's going on out there! Big Bob's got 4 slips and 2 gullies and he is trying to outdo Imran Khan for pace! " There was a very long feature in the 1982 Sunday Times about the world's fastest bowler. The consensus from most cricketers interviewed was that it was Imran Khan. More surprisingly the consensus was that he saw also the world's best fast bowler. You might have watched on TV. I watched him live. From the side on view Imran Khan was even a yard faster than all West Indians in 1981. But he had a lower skidder trajectory. Marshall's surprise was not just pure pace. Like Wasim Akram and also Mike Proctor his arm came through quicker than batsmen expected. Most Indians love to put Pakistanis down. There are even kids who call Imran Khan medium pace. No. He was genuine express pace, likely mid 90s. But he didn't have anywhere near the finesse of Marshall, Hadlee, Wasim Akram etc.
