Imran Khan praised Salim Jafar in the interview, but this proved to be Salim Jafar's last Test match, and last international match for that matter, even though he bowled better than all other bowlers in the first innings, dismissing Mahanama, Ranatunga and Aravinda De Silva, he was mysteriously under bowled in the second innings and subsequently dropped from the side selected for the World cup. Aqib Javed was preferred over him even though he didn't have any significant performances in this series.

Salim jaffar was a beautiful left arm pacer ,akram's first bowling partner before waqaar took that place ,alrhough whatever you have said is all correct ,actually waqaar was the factor because of which salim lost his olace in the side and all said and done ,waqaar was miles better than him ,he was infact better than wasim too...although first Aaquib displaced salim jaffar & then finally waqaar ...what was surprising was that waqaar got injured before 1991-92 world cup and rather than taking a senior and experienced quicky who had been to australia in perth challange in early 1987 and bowled very well ,he had played a world cup too in 1987 ,imran preferred a nobody wasim haider over Salim ,and everyone saw what a shit performance that nobody wasim haider gave , god saved the situation and akram came good and Johnny Aaquib too could bowl a bit and pakistan won the cup else taking a useless bum like wasim haider in place of Salim could have backfired badly on Imran.

Also salim was quite a bit like Ashish nehra was to Prince Zaheer ,first Irfan threw him out of the side than munaaf , although unlike jaffar Shameless nehra kept coming back to the side again and again ...infact all retired..Prince Zaheer , Irfan , Munaf but shameless nehra was brought back at 39 in 2018 by kohli i think...Salim could have learned this from nehra 😊😃👍

No he was not dropped because he was shia he was a ismali , also a bit surprising because Waqaar yunus got injured before 1991-92 world cup and salim Jaffar who was his natual replacement didnt get picked....

Well you are right...but Imran coming from a zamindar family in Punjab ( Lahore ) always wanted to change society plus his mother's hospital project too gave him too much hope that he could change pakistan..
