Why is it so difficult to show which driver is in which car during the race? I haven't got a clue, and seemingly neither do the commentators!

51:00 What terrible luck for that Mustang to move forward right as the GTPs were coming around. I hope Redline has a better season next year

Glad to see these had live stewards and were fairly clean at the start, at least compared to the usual mess from the oval side

3:00:16 I really hope iRacing addresses the net code to mitigate cases like this which would not occur in the real world. I would think ghosting the car in instances of packet loss would be fairly easy to do and treat the event like a local caution or some kind of black flag where the car cannot gain a position until the latency and jitter stabilize. Honestly spotty connections where the car is blinking on and off the track, falling from the air when it pops back in, should really not be permitted to race on a service that charges as much as they do. The prototype honestly should have been disqualified either way, for not braking more if no cars were visible to them or everything was visible, a gross lapse in concentration. There's a big enough problem with races being ruined by inconsiderate drivers, compounding that with connection issues really hurts the participation.

so the thing about that incident is that according to the rules, the Crowdstrike car should not have even been on track, due to the excessive internet problems they were facing.

Its a starting ground for the step to real racing nowadays. So it’s more than sim racing now…. TeamRedline has drivers like Chris Lulham who also drives in real cars and won his series this season winning all but 1 race. Max Verstappen is owner of the team and he aims to get more sim talents through to real car racing. Its a cheaper route for less wealthy talents to get into real racing now. Not the route to F1 but to other real racing series. And the more racers can make the step from sim racing to real racing, the more real racing teams will scout talent amounts the sim racers 💪 So it’s more than sim racing now.
