One of the most educational and effective Videos I've watched in a long time ! Joe yer a legend ! A whole series of videos just like this one are what we need... Bit like like learning to paint or draw. It's very helpful to see how to achieve a specific concept (picture) from beginning to end. So many sound mixing videos seem to focus on very specific subjects that don't really relate to the whole objective of mixing. That is to achieve a final end.. A MIX !!!!

I've spent days mixing a song and here you are grouping, colour coding and mix in 30 minutes. Seeing this got me smiling sometimes remembering how ridiculous hours I've spent mixing songs.

I'm new to all of this and purchased Studio One a few weeks ago and pretty much got started from watching your videos. This video is probably the best foundation to everything that follows. I learned so much watching you go through the process from start to finish. As we say in Hawai'i...Mahalo (Thank you!)

when you group the tracks in a folder and then color them, it doesn't keep all the colors? has anyone else had this issue
@tomowen94123 жыл бұрын
ive got 5 vocal takes in a folder and bus, but when i go to the mixer, the different vocal takes arent the same color as the bus they're all sorts of different colors?
@ggallin6063 жыл бұрын
In Studio One tab go to Options, then in the advanced tab under Editing you have to enable "Apply folder track color to content".
@starckwest63582 жыл бұрын
hello master I have Studio One artist and I haven't found how to display several adjustment plugins at the same time as soon as I turn on a second one the other goes out it's a shame because it's not practical it is better to sometimes have several plugins in front of you to make simultaneous settings do you know if it is possible and how do you do it thank you
@JimmyKSimmonsOfficial2 жыл бұрын
Open the Plug in and then up in the right corner area where the X is to close the plug in you will see a "tack" - like you would use to pin something to a cork board - click that and it stays put - you can do this to as many plug ins as you would like.
@martinhillersweden2 жыл бұрын
Nice showing off in high tempo. Is there some way to get to know how buses and add ons work? Just bought gear for about €1100 incl PreS 5.5 and all I find is guys showing off in high tempo like "look how good I am!"

Many people I know have asked why don’t I use Pro Tools? My answer is usually “They are the Windows of DAWs!”

@@baub58 some of my favorite plugs did not work without workarounds. The Crumar Performer and Linn1. Nope. I want them to work.
@michaelbonanno7476 Жыл бұрын
I think that the reason why so many mixers use all those “‘extra” plugins is because so many of them are trying to get “the sound or tone” that was created in the past. In this video, Joe isn’t trying to be or do anything else than what sounds “right” for the song.
@aguitarcalledchutzpah2 жыл бұрын
Would be good if you put a glow on your pointer and went a little slower and gave more detail on the selections you're making. Also, you created busses but then added plug-ins to individual tracks which I found a little confusing. Perhaps you could explain that a little better. But thanks Joe great vid!

Is anyone able to enhance the audio in 1 of my videos I’m in a life or death situation. I’m being psychologically tortured with a traumatic recording of myself being raped and tortured and has been made to look like consented to and accusing the people as they’ve edited out the torture nd said they gave me my rape fantasy not that they’re responsible for me having 1. I was 14 and given Valium and other memory shortening drugs and psychologically set up to think I was just having a nightmare as house furniture was rearranged so bunk bed in living room and set up in front of a webcam. If I don’t get audio enhanced so I can figure out what iv been set up for I won’t be able to stop it from happening in time
