Great interview Chris. Love both trucks. Grew up with a truck driver Dad & Uncle. '74 Transtar International with a coffin sleeper. Had a flat bed with a lowboy trailer. Hauled travel trailers from manufacturer 2 dealerships. They would haul 3 at a time. Loved my childhood traveling all over the place. Late '70's & '80's.

Great Vid. I also grew up in the 70'S and remember the A model kwoppers. The industry has definitely changed. I used to help a man next door work on his truck when I was a kid. His buddies would help out on time-ups, wheel bearing and race repairs etc. They all pretty much did their own wrenchin' etc. When I was 12 years old I started hauling hay. At 14 I got my first job in a truck shop in town washing trucks and working on em' etc. I started driving 32 years ago (we could start at 18 back then) and still really love it to this day. I'm not that old I just started early but I love this guy's culture stories of hard work, dedication and sometimes genuine brotherhood. I too have my own stories of intending to be out of Springfield, Oregon for an hour or so and calling my wife from Nisqually or Seattle to tell her that I'll be back in a day or so...I like everything about this vid. especially the sound of the Jake etc. Trucking has definitely changed, hope there are still more guys that continue to pass it along....😊

Man, these are the kind of video's I really love and appreciate you doing. I've been around trucks most all my life. I'm legally blind so I can't drive at all. But these video's kind put me out there where I've always wanted to be. When this guy is talking about loving trucking. Man oh man, I know what he's talking about. I'd give anything to be able to to be trucking. Anyway man, thank you so much for what you do with these video's. Keep on keeping on brother.

Honestly, I want to do this but my energy level is low I think based on maybe a body discrepancy. It definitely is not because I do not like or love trucking. I do think the type of frieght has a level of issues too. I did flatbed with Western but I think that can be rectified.

I had to rewind the video to make sure I heard it correct. Brockway is a great name. I actually met an old timer who worked at the Brockway factory in Cortland, NY about 3-4 years ago. He helped start the Brockway museum in town there. He had a bunch of restored Brockways, I hung around and toured his property and was able to enjoy some trucking history that day.

I tell you one of my most precious memories is waking up in that old cow which would have been in the 80's and I am 38 now . But I remember the reflection of his face in the passenger window reflected by the morning sunrise... I lost my dad 2 years ago to Alzheimer's and my ol heart is just so broken... it's been tough.. anyways hearing his stories about those things that really make it part of who we are and what really make it stick made me cry like a damn baby... and it is the best sleep in the world sleeping behind the old man... safest place in the world..

This video has 2 pieces of my truck history in it. My Dad had a 75 International cabcover that I moved around when he was home to clean it and service it. Then he bought a 79 Kenworth that was my next love, this truck was the one that I took my CDL test in at 18. When I was 19 I was going from Vancouver British Columbia to Montreal Quebec alone, this gave Dad time off to play with his vintage cars. Great video! It brought back some good memories.
