Hey Tara! Cookie baker here :) when you make cookies don’t melt the butter! Try to use softened butter and cream that together with your sugars until it’s lighter in colour and fluffier! Hope that helps! 🫶🏻

To avoid crumbly cookies the butter and sugar have to be creamed. Using the hand mixer will help to get it to a voluminous light point

Tara when you were at the Holiday Light Show and said “people are going to think we are actually together” I was reminded of a story my mom told me. She and my step dad were walking through a dark aquarium together many years ago, and as they went along, took each others hand while looking at everything. Only to realize my mom was actually holding the hand of some random lady she had never met. They both thought they were holding their husbands hands 😂 😂😂 The office looks so pretty! Hard tapping the measuring cup on the counter compacts the flour. You may have ended up with more flour than you needed. House looks fantastic! Awesome to see you really happy, finding your flow and truly settling into your Canada home and life. 🎄

Try not packing or tapping your flour in the cup next time you bake. Spoon it in instead until it’s heaping over the cup and then level it out 👍🏻

Love when you decorate! Doesn’t feel like Christmas until every part of your house is decorated. Tara make sure you use scales to measure not cups and softened butter not melted always use half brown sugar half castor sugar and you can’t go wrong :) also cream the sugars and softened butter until light and fluffy add your egg, vanilla then fold in flour, baking powder and chocolate chips.

Loving Vlogmas! I was surprised that the recipe called for melted butter, usually softened butter creamed with sugars. It would change texture, but they tasted good which is the only thing that matters 💜

When you compact the flour by tapping the measuring cup you end up with more flour than you should. Try "fluffing" the flour in the bag with a fork, then gently scoop and level with knife - Happy Baking🥰

Cooking tip : don't tap the flour when you are measuring it. Also, make sure to scoop the flour in the cup with a spoon and not scoop the flour straight from the bag with the cup. Otherwise your gonna have more flour than what the recipe says 🫶🏻🤍🍪

Same. The second I saw her tap the flour I thought, darn, those cookies gonna be dry. I use a hand whisk to fluff or aerate the flour before scooping into measuring cup. Also…a scale is a better way to accurately measure.

Professional pastry chef here and the toll house cookie recipe is my go to. Don’t melt your butter and use it room temperature. You beat and butter and sugar together until they are light and fluffy, slowly add eggs and vanilla and then add your dry ingredients. I like gooey cookies and find they always turn out much better and chewier this way.

I make cookies for my friends all the time! I’m at the point where they have little tins they bring me for refills haha. I’ve yet to meet someone that makes as good of chocolate chip cookies as me. I literally just follow the nestle toll house recipe, but I brown the butter instead of melting it in the microwave (use kerigold). Then I also ball and chill the do for a few hours. That’s what makes cookies stay fluffier and softer! Bake for 9-10 minutes and then let them sit on the pan for a bit to finish baking a little more. They are chefs kiss😘👌🏼

When you cook, there is only brown sugar that you have to squeeze into your measuring cup. The flour must remain fluffy even if you equalize it with your knife. Little trick for you, but you cook the way you want !😉 When your preparation is too dry, you add a little butter. For your little white houses, go see on the site of Bouclair, there are discounts.

Tara I have made a lot a lot of cookies and honestly the recipe on the back of the toll house chocolate chips bag is the best. You can just google it but a couple things I do different is I brown the butter (and you must use real unsalted butter) and I beat the butter, sugar, egg and vanilla mixture on high in my stand mixer for no less then 10 minutes. Until it starts to resemble a meringue. Other wise I fallow the recipe to a T. They are the absolute best ppl are crazy about my cookies.

Best Choc Chip Cookies Ever! Chocolate Chip Pudding Cookies: 1 cup salted butter, softened 3/4 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup white sugar 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 eggs 2 1/3 cup flour 3.4 ounces instant vanilla pudding mix 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 1/2 cup chocolate chips Preheat oven to 175°C. Line baking sheet with parchment paper. Cream together the butter and sugars in a large mixing bowl, 1-2 minutes until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and beat 1 egg in at a time. In a separate bowl mix flour, pudding mix, baking powder and soda, and salt. Combine the two bowls together. Then slowly add chocolate chips. Bake 8-10 minutes or until edges are lightly golden brown. The center will look a little underdone. Let sit on baking sheet for 2-5 minutes before removing to cooling rack. Enjoy!
