Chapter 02 verse 03 of the Bhagavad Gita singlehandedly snapped me out of the depression a few years ago that I had been suffering from at that point for quite a while for my life circumstances. The Gita is not a big book; it has only 700 verses across 18 chapters. At one point in one's life, one should give it a go.

@@jagannathputri9017 Glad that you have asked. I have been an admirer of Zen Buddhism for over a decade. Reading a lot about Zen traditions opened the door in my mind to Dharmic traditions which eventually led me to the Gita. I have been living in Canada for 16 years, over here books on the Zen way are more available. But born and growing up in Bangladesh, I have read Swami Vivekananda, Sri Aurobindo. But at that time, I had not read the Gita.

I am deeply influenced by the Bhagawad Geeta. I even gifted a copy of it to my Irish boss who thanked me profusely . Everyone must read it - not superficially but slowly to get its essence.

At the age of around 17-18, I was disturbed and angry by the pain or hardship faced by a very close relative. That is when my eyes fell on the copy of Gita which we had at home. I started reading it and it truly changed me. I could control my anger, at the same time give solace to the relative in a mature way, although I couldn't solve the problem. Definitely Gita changed me and I could control my impulsive nature

There was a line in Laila Majnu. In one of his crazy rants he is accosted by a bunch of people praying and retorts - ‘ Mein apne Mashooqa sein baat kar raha tha, maine apko dekha nahi, par aap apne Mashooqa se baat kar rahe the, aapne kaise sun liya?’ . A man talking about God as his lover knows love like a sufi does. Now this makes sense. Imtiaz Ali is a gem!!

When you will read it you will find that Its not about religion or an ideology of a religion like other religions in the world its about truth that we are living. Yeah its common nowadays but we cannot say all of them are satisfying their egoes even shri chaitanya mahaprabhu the avatar of shri shyama shyam said that hari nam sankirtan takes the way to god. It means take the name of God every time every where while doing anything and stay away from the fruits of the work and do nishkam karma remembering Krishna. Shree Hari 🙏

@@pravinamin1886 relax prabhu lets not judge anyone he is somewhat correct at his side because nowadays adjoining ego with religion is common in every religion and it has increased alot due to social media stereotypes and prejudices with half knowledge. Thus whenever someone says jai shree ram they still are not aware of who actually is prabhu shree ram , his character his beliefs are worth adopting even I don't know even a part of krishna tatv, still sometimes I take pride in it. So we all do this mistake its normal. Just he needs to change his perception where most of the youth is busy in satisfying their ego by demeaning other religions still there are some people who are asking that who I am and seeking their answers.
