I think the second half got a bit messy thematically. VIRM could have been a useful thematic challenge to both sides, but the world built in the first half got a little bent by events in the second half. Despite the criticisms and issues I have with it (specifically the second half) I genuinely enjoyed it actually. It gave good feels and had some pretty cool ideas. I'd say it's worth watching despite its flaws.

I always heard about this anime on the internet but never had the proper will to stop and watch until I did. Nowadays I can say that to me it doesn't matter how bad people talk about this anime, how bad the ending was compared to the manga, to me this is my favorite anime of all times, combines a lot of themes I like, like sci-fi (the futuristic scenery), mistery (how the APE agency looks and sound shady until we know what they really are), love and so on and if you look at it past all the ecchi and fan service content and analyze it a little further, you'll see that it actually tells the story of two souls made for each other, starting with the tale of the one winged bird that needs its mate to be able to fly at the beginning, passing through the flashbacks of Hiro and Zero's childhood and then ending at their reunion 1000 years later.

This anime is my second favorite, I know there are many technically better than it but to me it isn't all about which show is better by measurable metrics. What this show did for me when I watched it cannot be matched. I can't believe there was a time where I said I would never watch anime and made fun of it but thanks to my friends that were all too persistent I was able to watch this amazing show. This show touched my heart in an indescribable way and I'm so glad my friends introduced me to this world. I know this anime gets a lot of hate but it will never stop me from loving it.

For those that are upset about the ending, I can try fill you in on why it was actually well made. Sure, we are all upset that the previous cast of teammates, being squad 13, will most definitely not be featured if there were to be a season 2, and how it seems as though the reincarnated Hiro and 002 will not be the same, however in the final few episodes VIRM states they will return when humanity reaches it's **next stage in evolution**. What we see in the ending is a time lapse of humanity evolving to a point where Earth has become a technological planet that is completely populated over the thousand years dedicated to restoring it. This is that next stage in evolution. Under the sakura tree we see Hiro and 002 reunite. What most people overlook is how this easily opens up to a possible season 2. VIRM will return because humanity has reached that exact next stage of evolution they referred to, and we have our two beloved main characters reunited. Considering it was mentioned their souls were what was reincarnated, and judging by how on numerous occasions characters had their memories wiped yet somehow managed to remember things they weren't meant to, I think it's safe to say this reincarnated duo will somehow unlock those past memories and continue their legacy. It's easy to say this anime's ending sucks without looking at the details. It was made ready to be continued, however with the negative reviews the anime received, we can only wait and see if a season 2 will eventually release. Hopefully the creators will acknowledge the popularity and hype around a season 2 and work on it.

secretly evil organization thats good on the outside that want to evolve humanity into God now where did that come from again? also I'm not super mad about its almost like a copy from eva but I'm mad bc it had potential and the writers mixed cocaine and sugar in their coffee and decided to do some alien shizt in the LAST 4(or 3) EPISODES OF THE SEASON. The show SHOULD HAVE had the alien shizt in the next season and stopped at ep 15 (the IMO climax of the show). Now about the ending. That was kinda average like the writers wanted a happy ending where everyone in squad 13 didn't die and said "Hey these super elite squad should probably die instead of one of the squad 13 members which would have made a much more greater impact but eh happy ending is life". I can see how the ending may make sense, and I respect opinions on the ending. But I will have to disagree. The ending of them reincarnating and everyone else living happy lives was actually really wholesome, and I liked it. I liked that Zero Two and Hiro have a second chance in a new era. What I will not stand by is VIRM. At least personally, the VIRM introduction at the last few episodes felt rushed. They only appear in the last few episodes with no prior mention or knowledge of said species. For the entire anime, it was focused on the Klaxosaurs and their Queen with Zero Two being connected to the queen. Then out of no where, VIRM show up. If VIRM were to be introduced, they should have given mentions or warnings of them either from the adults or from the Queen herself. Then have the build up of VIRM being a very powerful race of aliens. Instead of just showing up in the last few minutes. Even having an entire season dedicated to VIRM being the main enemy instead of Klaxosaurs.

My take is that everything about darling in the franxx is perfect,it was hand drawn frame by frame ,the story was good,they have Multiple characters with very well character development and has some of the best op and ending themes,try in KZbin and you'll genuine will be surprised. But the only thing I don't like is how everything changes after episode 15,since its b/w two studios cuz of that ,after 15: the studio,genre,story changes,everything changes but still keeps the mood and vibe same throughout the series. The more I reflect on it, the more disappointed I get about the ending. STILL! I really loved Darling in the Franxx. Right up to the whole, "my dinosaur girlfriend's mind is a spaceship now" thing, the story felt so human, and the drama was top notch. I like to partially imagine another two seasons, in which we see various ups and downs for the kids and APE, and there are more impossible revelations about the biology of contemporary "humanity," and there could be some complications due to Zero Two's being a clone and Hiro having connected so closely to her. Hald a season, the two MCs are stranded in any unknown area of ancient civilization, where they learn more about how humans used to live, maybe some info on romance or married folks, just to give their weird af relationships some normie energy. They have sex, which pushes Hiro's conversion over a dangerous bump, then the ither kids find them, and maybe Ichigo donating some angst or sperm or something to pull Hiro back from changing. The rest of the series has Hiro requiring regular doses from Ichigo to stay human, which pisses off Ichigo and Zero Two, since they have to share Hiro. Then they could explore some ruins, finding out more about APE or Dr Franks. A big clash happens, the kids get strength, and fight the klaxos way back, but then preggo girl calls in ti tell them the truth behind "magma" and APE and how the kids are just used for their ignorant horny power. Idk......there is a whole ass remake out there on the universe, and the me there/then who watched it calls Darling his favorite romance anime, despite really not liking mecha shows. El Psy Congroo

This anime is just a gem that often get´s the "wrong" first impression but unfolds into a very well told story with strong and well rounded charakters. It delivers the whole range of the emotional spectrum,it starts funny,almost like not taking the plot serious but keeps getting stronger more agressive towards the middle of the storyline,then the writers went suprisingly deep focussing more on love and all that sweet positive vibes until the rolercoster hits you with a bittersweet end that almost could stand just as it is but also leaves that small piece of hope we all got for another season to come out.

I got scared, angry and very very confused. whenever something good and wholesome happened it all felt illusionary, fake. one second zero two is calling hiro 'darling' and the next few episodes, without anything happening related to the matter, it all seemed like a toxic relationship. it just kept going up and down with these relationships. there was a lot of feelings I got from this, A LOT, all of which branched from some form of confusion, english probably doesnt have names for what I felt.

Honestly, those who say this ended off with a bad ending just don't have a true sense of pure art. This is possibly one of the best endings you could've got, and the way the ending was pictured was so perfect fr. When I first watched it and saw the endings, I thought that there were animes with worse ending, and to my dispair, the following 2 months I only watched sad animes (they were all recommended btw) and so this is how I can now withstand any and I kid you not, any sad movies or anime and it will not affect me. Even tho almost 5 years passed, this anime is still one of the best ever produced. Enchanting scenario, well-written story and the way characters are developed is kinda unique, because sometimes you can identify the emotion they're feeling in a determinate moment. Despite the controvential ending and the fvcking hole (holy sh1t I've watched this 4 years ago and still I haven't recovered from that emptyness) this anime left in my heart, a can assure this is a certified OG S+ tier product. No, not for all the stuff written up, just for Zero Two (best waifu ever I swear)

Best 19 episode anime out there. No, seriously. I really hope we someday get to see another season. Although with the ending we got, it would definitely be alot more messy than it needs to be. Or hell, just remake it with the manga ending. You know, the one that actually makes more sense and goes deeper into the new enemy instead of introducing them in the last 4 episodes while trying to fill a full seasons worth of content into those episodes. Anyway, let's just see and wait I guess

I loved Darling in the Franxx so much and this is why 02 is such a wildly known and loved with because of the love she shows and the plot of the story. It all comes together perfectly and it is an amazing experience I widly recommend this show to anyone who likes romance or any other genre to be honest. It was perfect 💯🔥
