Welcome back to SHINee! Let me give you a few facts about this song: 1) First-ever hybrid song combining two separate songs into one ("Clue" + "Note"). SM would repeat this hybridization with SuperM's "One" ("Infinity" + "Monster") of which Taemin is a member. 2) The iconic "SHINee's Back" was born with this song. Now it's a requirement whenever SHINee has a comeback. 3) This is the most expensive choreo ever commissioned by SM. It was done by Tony Testa, MJ's choreographer for his "This Is It" tour. In 2012, when this song debuted, it also became the most difficult choreo in Kpop at that time, surpassing the previous most difficult choreo, also from SHINee, "Lucifer". It would be surpassed in 2013 by SHINee's choreo for "Everybody". SHINee's concerts are 3 to 3.5 hours of pure high-octane intensity and fun -- even with their ballads. This is why they are the kings of live performances. They always give 200% for every concert, individually conserving energy as they go, and then exploding with even more energy than before. For this particular concert, "Sherlock" was the opening song, but it was then followed by three more equally energetic, performance-heavy songs -- just about 15 total minutes of non-stop dancing, singing, and performing. Taemin has talked aboit this song being an important turning point in SHINee's career. He said before that they were all fighting for the spotlight, but this song required them to work much more closely together as a team to make the dance as seamlessly as possible. He credits this song to bringing them closer as artists.

This was the start of a nearly three and a half hour concert that they ended with just as much energy and charisma as this performance! There really are none that can compare. As for Jinki (Onew) and Kibum (Key), Jinki had the beautiful auburn hair pushed up from his forehead while Kibum had the fluffy, textured hair with oceanic-colored chunks and glittery bits. The choreography was (and still is, to my knowledge) the most expensive SM ever contracted, by the infamous choreographer of Michael Jackson and many more, Tony Testa.

This is how they open a concert! This was followed immediately by 3 other high energy songs (SHINe, Stranger - which is another absolutely iconic performance - and Picasso, before they pause for the first time and talk to the audience for a few minutes). They always give 1000%. This performance has some differences from the MV version; during the breaks between sets they talk about changes they've made specifically for this concert to give the fans something new (which is also notably seen in Stranger and in the legendary Excuse Me Miss performance). I love watching you discover them!

Loving the praise you have for Shinee! Some of their songs are very 'of its time', you'll hear some crazy autotune and dubstep in some of their earlier albums but the live arrangements of them always slap. Not to mention that most of their best songs are b-sides that are performed live. It's just *chefs kiss* 👌 Highly recommend the lives for Excuse Me Miss for some good ol' R&B and Why So Serious for the vocals! P.S The choreography was by Tony Testa, who also choreographed for the greats like Michael Jackson. Don't quote me on it, but I think one of the SM staff mentioned it was one of the most expensive choreos they bought at the time. Truly fit for the Princes of Kpop.

This was the first SHINee video I saw and was hooked ever since then. I kept watching their dancing over and over again and their retro outfits and long haired Taemin and Jonghyun's amazing voice. What a group, what a group. Wait til you see some of their live shows where they rip their shirts off. SF9's latest song Puzzle reminds me of this detective like concept of Sherlock.

Hahah dope reaction, yeah shinee has some of the best concerts in the industry for real, whether it's their korean or japanese ones!!! Don't worry about not getting them down immediately but a tip. Key has a permanent eyebrow scar so it makes it look like it's split in two at the end so if you're looking (and it's not covered by his hair) and you're confused you can try to see that to know it's him. He also probably has the "sharpest" voice out of everyone in the group, the others have smoother or lower voices. Key's also gonna have another comeback this upcoming monday (feb 13th) so maybe that'll help you too! Minho you can tell because he's got big eyes and his hair is usually black, he's only dyed it like.. twice I think. He's also the main rapper so if at least one of the members is rapping it's also usually him lol. And his voice is the deepest of all the members too. I love how you recognized Onew from Dice because that hair style and color was the one he actually used in Dice which came out years after this too haha.

SHINee's concerts are epic, but hey that's not even how they open, before Sherlock there was a very epic intro called: SHINee in the house, you have to watch that, the vocals, OMG, it gives me goosbumps every time. It's ok if you can't match faces with names yet, although so far you're doing great, I think you got everyone right this time. Please react to more of this concert , maybe you can see 2 or 3 songs per video, it's up to you, but really, you only get the real SHINee experience by watching them live, it's a must, it's what makes SHINee SHINee, masters of live performances.

You should listen to Good Evening and Everyboday as well, they are amazing!!! As others have suggested,one day you should react to one of their concerts. When you have the time, though, because most of them last almost 3 hours (although you will not realise it).

1. "Symptoms" would be dope. It's a b-side so if you want to have two videos in an upload like you usually do, you'll need to do a lyrics video but pair it with a live version. "1 of 1" MV is also a good pick. Maybe pair it with a live stage if you can upload it. Sometimes music show stages get blocked. 3. You may have noticed that "Sherlock" felt like you were listening to more than one song because it's a special song that combines 2 songs from SHINee's album "Clue" and "Note." That's why the title of this MV is "Sherlock (Clue & Note)" If you were to listen to the album you would see that they are two separate songs, but when combined they become "Sherlock." So, in the MV you hear the mashup of the two songs. Therefore, as you may have noticed, Minho's whisper part in their live performance is different than what you heard in the MV because when they perform it live they chose different parts of "Clue" and "Note" to create "Sherlock" each time. So their performance is never exactly the same, which is one reason why SHINee's concerts are considered one of the best. No matter how many times you have heard a song or seen them perform, you will never get the same thing twice. In SHINee's "Sherlock (Clue & Note)" MV the boys are Sherlock-like detectives who are looking for clues in the spooky mansion. The "ghost" girl -- who is played by Jessica Jung, the former member of Girls' Generation, which is a senior group also under SM -- is helping SHINee solve a mystery by leaving them clues. At the end they realize that the girl they have been seeing and chasing after all day is actually the girl that was originally involved in the mystery when they find an article talking about her from 1910 and they discover that they must have been seeing a ghost. SHINee are supposed to be detectives, so the choreography has been designed to give them Sherlock-like poses and to show them investigating clues, and taking photos, etc. That is why they do that Sherlock Holmes-style exaggerated march, and why you see them kneel down and draw a line on the floor, and why they hold their hands out like they are snapping a photo, and they have that move that looks like they are brushing dust from their sleeves, etc. LOL. Yes, the brand name on the computer was iWatson. Like Sherlock Holmes' sidekick Watson. The computer helped SHINee solve the mystery. SHINee was actually starting a fashion trend at that time. As you may remember, SHINee are known for being one step ahead when it comes to fashion because they are the ones that start the trends in Korea that eventually influence fashion trends around the world. Fashion designers actually covet a chance to work with SHINee, or any of the members individually for that matter, because they know that if they can get SHINee to wear their clothes that they will become super popular. And, yes, this was the era of Taemin with long hair. Although, in the MV, Taemin's really long hair was a wig. If you notice, he only has long straight hair during the dance breaks, but during the story sections his hair is much shorter and kind of curly. However, he really did grow his hair long for a while. Taemin with long hair is one of his most iconic looks. I didn't really like Taemin's wig look, but Taemin with naturally long hair is one of my favorites. (He is actually known for making girls jealous because his hair is so perfect.) Many people thing that Taemin with long hair made him look pretty like a girl, but I actually thing it's kind of a masculine look on him. Taemin's hairstyle also made him one of the most popular of the members with their Japanese fans. This was the era when SHINee really started to solidify themselves as Japanese artists, so Taemin's look had Japanese fans gravitating to them. (SHINee debuted in Japan in 2011 and now they are considered one of the most popular artists in Japan as well.) "Sherlock (Clue & Note)" came out in 2012 -- 4 years after their debut with "Replay." So Taemin is now 18 in this MV. Onew is 22, Jonghyun is 21 and Key and Minho are 20. The choreography for "Sherlock (Clue & Note)" was created by Tony Testa a very well-known "Hollywood"-famous American choreographer who has also worked with some of the most famous artists, productions and dancers in the world, including Michael Jackson. "Sherlock" was the first time SM (or pretty much anyone in the Kpop industry) had ever used a famous choreographer, and at the time, it was the most expensive Kpop production ever. Once again, SHINee were trendsetters and, because of SHINee's skill level, SM became the first to see the value in using a well-known choreographer to help create their dances and to strive for a level of choreography and video production that surpassed anything that had ever been done before. (Now, SHINee -- and numerous SM groups -- have worked with Tony Testa multiple times over the years.) Today it's common place for Kpop companies to have really famous in-house choreographers, and to seek out people in the industry who are really making a name for themselves to choreograph for them, but SHINee was one of the first. The live performance of "Sherlock (Clue & Note)" is part of the intro of the concert, but the whole concert is just as intense and amazing as what you just saw. This performance was from their SHINee World Concert IV (SWC4) in Seoul, so it was in 2015 -- 3 years after the MV was released. Onew is the one with the brown/auburn hair, Key is the one with the longer gray hair, and Minho is the tallest member who is the rapper. As you may know, Key is our fashionista of the group and he is known for creating the outfits for a lot of SHINee's MVs and live performances. Key designed several outfits for this concert, including the ones you see them wearing in this set. The embellishments and design for these military style uniformes, were created by him. Key has even been given the official title as SM's director of fashion. Those vocals are why SHINee are known as one of the best live performances in Kpop. Jonghyun is one of the best vocalist in the industry, and what you just experienced is why SHINee is one of the most well respected groups around. Even as rookies, Jonghyun and Onew were so well respected for their vocal abilities that they were mentors and vocal coaches for several SM artists, including some of the members of EXO. If you think this performance was insane, just wait until you see the full concert. They perform like this for 3 hours straight and they never take more than a 5 minute break in between sets to change their clothes and get ready for the next set. If you watch this full set you will see that right after this they immediately follow this song up with their song "Shine" and then their Iconic performance of "Stranger" and then "Picasso." They literally go from one song to the next without even skipping a beat. They don't even have a chance to catch their breath, and yet, right after that, when they interact with the audience, they don't even look or sound like the performance has even started.
