I love that Dr Carr presents a fair and knowledge discussion about my country. I would like to add that even more recently, Cuba was one of the 2 countries who sent significant medical support and assistance to several West African countries very early in the Ebola outbreak in 2014. Both Cuba and China sent medical support almost a full year before major western countries decided to to send in medical and financial support.

This talk seems so different from what I’m hearing on other sides. This totally makes sense, but I’d love to ask Dr. Carr his thoughts on the people making a set amount in Cuba, the prostitution bc of the low living wages, and these “medical missions” these doctors go on and if it’s equal bc they aren’t paying for their education? I was listening to Laz Alonso (Afro-Cuban) and he is attributing Cuba’s issues to the embargo. This was a great discussion and causing me to have so many more questions and learn more. I went to Cuba in 2017 and remember meeting an Afro-Cuban Historian while we were there and had an awesome conversation with him. 🙏🏾 I wish I could get back to him.
