Probably the First Test Pilot to become the Chief.The Chief who is not professionally the king( Tejas is his baby) but is physically very fit and a sportsman.He has handled very tough Qs in the interview and was continously clapped. At the same time not ambitious for his retirement resettlement and bold to take Govt to task for not ae to meet the requirements of a Tech Force.

From the outset ...each and every airforce chief who have retired till now has said...that all the domestic programs are in parallel with purchase of foreign jet... LCA Mk1 IOC---FOC---LCA MK1A ---LCA MK2---AMCA this is the order no matter what...in domastic programs... MRFA AND FGFA are our PPP models...for foreign fighter procurement...this should be clear for each n every one before criticizing...and yes purchasing of FGFA has become top priority now... because of our northern neighbour... atleast 1sq of Su-57...for now

India (defence ministry)officially withdrew the 126-aircraft MMRCA tender on 30 July 2015. It was a big mistake.MMRCA2.0 was not fruitful either. We need to collaborate and coooperate with other countries, spend too much on Defense and R&D in order to be atmanirbhar. As Sir has said earlier,”Atmanirbharta comes with a cost”. Air Force has placed 40 Light combat aircraft (Tejas)order with HAL and it’s been almost 24 years , they haven’t received it yet. Even today Sir highlighted “technology delayed is technology denied “. Yes,we are doing better than yesterday but is it enough? No. govt has to take responsibility of its shortcomings and mistakes. Why do I feel like this interview was organised to cover up on what Sir has said earlier in press conference . They are not accountable for telling the truth. Defence ministry should be answerable for not timely delivery of Tejas and failure of mmrca.
