In conversation with former SABC COO Hlaudi on court order to repay R11.5 million

Former SABC COO Hlaudi Motsoeneng has been ordered to repay an R11.5 million success payment made to him by the previous SABC Board within seven days. This was after the High Court in Johannesburg declared the payment made to Motsoeneng unlawful and invalid. The SABC and the SIU approached the court to review and set aside a decision by the former SABC Board to pay Motsoeneng and to recover financial losses of monies to the tune of R11.5 million.

English is actually indeed a measure of intellect. The problem with this statement is that people assume "English" refers to speaking with a British accent. The measure in intellect goes much further than that. A few examples: - For most South Africans, English is not a home language, it is an additional language. Being Fluent in English on top of being fluent in your home language means you can properly learn multiple languages, which is an indication of healthy intellect. - English is one of the most mature languages in the world and contains a vast vocabulary. Being able to command the language both in written and verbal form without struggling to articulate yourself, is an indication of healthy intellect. Even Hlaudi himself, is undereducated but is still proficient in the English language, which is why he was able to get to where he is in life. Those who struggled to learn English also struggle to make it in life.
