Tsuna never had friends. The whole point of this show is to show how he changed bc of his friends and found people to care about, and did stuff that he would've never done without his friends' existence. when reborn accepted his de//ath tsuna was mad bc reborn was the reason why tsuna had the opportunity to ever experience friendship..the ending was truly so amazing and showed how this show was so deep i don't know why people would hate it.

I remember reading the ending of KHR, I was a bit disappointed at first until I thought about Tsuna's journey. I do agree saying Tsuna hasn't changed or regressed is definately wrong. One of my favourite moments comes from when Byakuran was ready to take back Yuni but Tsuna stepped in to stopped him. You can't imagine Tsuna from the beginning doing that so he definitely did grow. Tsuna didn't need a drastic growth or big over the top end, we know where he is headed in the future but whats more important than that is the fireworks shared by people he cares for. So the ending fits with his character as well as the theme of KHR which seems to be about being a better person despite the talents you have/dont have. I liked the discussions about comparing the villains to Tsuna. Lol but I was more pissed off he was still not properly confessing to Kyoko then again he is so young so makes sense but he is getting closer. Like the ending chapter says he hasn't changed much but there is clearly a difference. Thanks for another great KHR video.

I personally liked the ending cause it was crystal clear how it will end and seeing Tsuna acknowledge that he has friends now and isn’t alone compared to chapter 1 was the best part imo seeing him be confident that everything will be ok since he has his friends and can protect them is what made love it
@Lunasera Жыл бұрын
I think it is a good ending. Sure, an ending where he would accept to be boss and decide to change things would be nice too, but this ending made sense for Tsuna. The thing that changed about him is definitely his confidence for me which comes from having friends he can trust an rely on. He doesn't need to be boss or successful in anything or such, he just needs his friends and I think that is actually a really nice sentiment to apply to our lives as well. Many people have a hard time finding their self-worth because they try to define it by success in school, work, etc. being popular with everyone or such. And it can be suffocating. Trying to live up to things you can't reach or maybe even don't want to reach. Finding confidence and fulfillment in what you have and staying true to yourself is a great thing. And like you said, this whole thing happened over only a year. Tsuna has many more years to collect experiences, maybe change his mind, maybe stay with it, anything can happen. I wouldn't rewrite the ending, it is good in my opinion, but maybe expand on what comes after that if that ever is an option.

I believe given how, for the longest, Shounen MCs have been needing to meet a quota to achieve what's expected of them at the end of the series, and readers don't wanna feel like time was wasted when we don't see that. Very good point that about a year passed in all of the manga. It's just unfortunate that most fans much rather he becomes the Vongola boss. While I want to see that myself, it's respectable that Tsuna doesn't want to become one yet, and I much rather he does so in a sequel series or timeskip. I also rather just see him being committed to Kyoko

Honestly, my only grievance with the end is with ch 405. I thought that the final battle was a bit anti-climatic because Checker Face yeilded a bit too easily. I know it makes sense with his motives, but at the same time, he spent all this time and energy deticated to this inefficient system for the Trinisette. Yet so easily was a better solution founded. It makes me think that either he's dumb or he didn't try as hard as he could have to find the best solution. Although, I could just be dumb and not understand the story.

Funny enough, I have the same complaint too, the final fight did felt way shorter than necessary, and I do still love it (which is funny cause I don't remember seeing anyone with the same complain as most complained about the topic of the video... chapter 405 is by far one of the best chapters for me if not the best chapter of KHR the rush fight against bermunda doesn't necessarily make it a bad chapter because that was the least of the problems, the problem is called Shounen Jump, again this shit magazine not worrying at all about the quality of their works and caring only about the money they give, at that time of the final row of KHR, Jump rushed Amano a lot to finish KHR (since at that time the manga was not at its peak in terms of popularity), but returning to the chapter, a lot of interesting information was shown to us, showing that at no time was Cheacker or wanted to be a villain, as he himself said "if he had any other way of protecting the trinsette without the need to sacrifice human lives he would choose this option without thinking twice " it's a shame that if it wasn't for Jump Akira Amano would have expanded and explained in a better way the background of the checker face, and we would have two more arcs for KHR but Jump turned down these two arcs unfortunately we could have seen a lot more of this work but that didn't happen

But I think it is fine, because its says that they created 7^3 by the help of others and the 8th flame was not present that time so cheker can not think of any other way out. It is like telling someone about to find solution like mobile or aeroplane to someone in BC age .

I interpreted the ending very differently. I read it as Tsuna was the start of a New kind of boss. For a new generation. One that doesn’t follow the old rules. So he’ll never officially be the “boss”, but he will always be the sky that governs his family. Evidence: •As we see in the Future Arc, he eventually becomes some sort of Vongola boss anyways. So that suggests he’s destined to be some sort of leader. •the previous bosses approved of Tsuna tearing down the mafia traditions.

His destiny was about him being vongola boss and a true successor of primo that would liberate people and destroy current vongola like a hero but tsuna let corrupt vongola be he did experience all those hardship in future arc he did became the boss in future people who think tsuna as a hero that would liberate people and become overpowered mc that ain't gonna happen he would become the boss in future but more like not a boss and subject relationship but at a equal standing with his friends without any ego or courage for corruption just eradicating the so called villains is what tsuna actually would do protecting people for disasters etc is what he would become mature but still won't leave his clumsy personality

I've only read the manga once but I never thought that the ending was bad. The part where he would inherit the sins of the vongola literally showed us that he would not be the vongola boss that we think he would be. If he even becomes the boss then it would not be the same kind as the other 8 bosses. In the first place, the vongola was mad by Gioto to protect and not to harm. This is the reason why in 10 generations of bosses, he is the only one to inherit the first vongola's flames. This is also evident how their guardians were similar in power because they we're chosen by bond they made with the boss and not because they're part of the mafia. Half of Tsuna and Gioto's guardians were not part of the mafia whatsoever.

("sorry for bad English" disclaimer and whatever) Great video. It's really nice to see somebody discussing this gem nowadays. My comment is not to say that it has a bad ending, but rather that it lacks an ending altogether. Firstly, I agree with you. The final chapter is misjudged by people who want Tsuna to be the boss, and I understand he wouldn't necessarily end like that (but he could). However, I can't stand the last chapter because it doesn't end the big question behind it: the decision. He had to choose between being a mafia boss (by consequence a criminal) and having his boring normal life, and he chose his tedious and customary life (good for him tho). Then Reborn said he would become the "Neo Vongola Primo" instead of the "10° Vongola" and it makes sense, but we don't know the real implications of this. We don't really know how will the "other part" of Vongola react to it and we don't really know what changes in fact. I remember being in a state of denial about the final so I started to see it as a signal of Amano's will to continue this work. Whatever happened to the end my favorite artpiece like that, I can't stand the ending.

Keep in mind, I didn't said the ending is perfect, it has its issues but I wouldn't say it's as bad as people say and I get where you're coming from We can agree with this: The ending is a good conclusion for Tsuna, but not a good conclusion for the series. Also, don't worry, your English is fine ❤️

I was always an anime only Hitman reborn fan but I recently read the manga and absolutely loved how it ended. I was honestly really surprised to see people were dissatisfied with it. But when I saw what people said they didn’t like I realized that people don’t like the ending because they just don’t understand it. The series was never about tsuna coming to accept his role as a mafia boss. Tsuna’s only intentions always have been and always will be to protect his friends. From the beginning to the end we see tsuna go from a timid and cowardly character to someone who is willing to put his life on the line for his friends. He has never once shown interest in being a mafia boss and I don’t know why people expected him to randomly accept it.

Thanks for differentiating what makes each character distinct from one another and how they specifically support Tsuna. I 100% agree about the Tsuna point. I think Reborn doesn't really want to train Tsuna to be a Mafia Boss but to make him know that no matters how such a looser he can be, he's a real man with real values, and confronting him to the Mafia World as a boss position was the ultimate lesson. I didn't hate the ending but I had some disapointments with the last Arc. Don't get me wrong, I loved the theme of the Rainbow curse Arc but the content was rushed in my opinion. The development about the Vindice, origins of the Trinisette, the real power of Arcobalenos when they get their adult form and seeing Iemitsu real power fighting his son were great ideas. But man... Hibari vs Xansus was such a trash fight ! How can you make the most hype material fight so undevelopped and feel more like a joke ?? the final fight against Bermuda was too short and ended up with just one punch... And Bermuda chara-design is so terrible. What about the exploitation of the Earth element flames ? We all still don't know what's the Earth equivalent of Rain, 0 Kaoru Mizuno fight or power demonstrations, 0 explaination of how the Seven flames of Earth were created. (maybe an Earth version of Trinisette but nothing) Tsuna's Guardians felt absolutely useless in this arc and it disapointed me even more. And finally, the Checker Face development was also rushed as hell. That's how we know how quick Akira Amano had to finish her manga...

Tsuna is very similar to Yusuke Urameshi and Ichigo Kurosaki in this. Not the currently generic shounen trope mc where the story starts with a clear goal the mc needs to achieve for the ending to be considered ''good''. Tsuna is just a regular dude who is put into a position and path he never asked for but HAS TO continue onward just to survive and protect his loved ones. The anime ending of YYH makes this so real, literally brings realism to these characters when Yusuke is fighting Yomi and in the middle of it the dude just has a lowkey existential crisis and stops fighting and gets pummelled and asks Yomi but more importantly himself ''What am I even fighting for?''. Edit: This is exactly why these characters are my favorites in Shounen.

The thing is that i think its hard for ppl to stomach the ending of tsuna saying he doesnt want to be the boss even up to the end is becus the author never really gave him another dream? If tsuna stated that his dream is to be ____instead, i think ppl would at least quieten down more compared to what we get. If from the start he states he wants to be ___, but end up was tossed into this mafia career, with the fact that his friends and family would be in big troubles all the time and the risk is high, of course it makes sense for him to keep saying till the end, and hopes he doesn't be a mafia boss. But the fact is that throughout the whole manga, it is solidified at least during the future arc that he WOULD be a mafia boss. Like we SEE him becoming one. So him constantly till the end, even after the future arc, STILL states/ whine out loud that he doesn't want to be a mafia boss, despite remembering everything about the future arc and knowing he would be one, looks silly. Like from a normal fan that doesn't think too much pov. I personally love how kind tsuna is and understand why he still doesn't want to be one till the end, but i know and understands why fans that isnt his fan would react the way they do though. It can come off as quite whiney or irresponsible of tsuna ^^;

You're right that this ending makes sense for Tsuna's character, and while I'd like if they showed he improved at least slightly at school, I think you made me realize what I was truly disappointed about - it didn't solve the problem of who's gonna be the boss. Because sure this story is about Tsuna, but who didn't get invested in Vongola after reading the whole manga, right? And we still didn't get the answer. I suppose KHR could easily have a sequel taking place five years later or so, to see what changed, perhaps Tsuna finding a loophole about who can get the position, or maybe it would actually be about him changing the Vongola into something similar to what it was during Primo's times (still without officially becoming a boss). It's just that the ending didn't feel enough like an ending for the whole world of KHR.

So for context I'm just gonna tell you that I watched your entire 1 hour video essay on Tsuna and I loved it. That being said this video seems to me a very long winded and roundabout way of expressing your thoughts on the ending. You probably could have done it in 10 minutes without changing much about the reasoning for your opinion. You don't need to go into every single piece of story development that happens in KHR's publication history to explain why the ending is good or bad. Just my opinion. You're free to take it as genuine advice or dismiss it entirely. This video just felt way too long for no reason. I hope you continue making videos on everything you like and enjoy. The last thing I want is to discourage you from doing so. I happened to really enjoy your other videos on the series so far. Now I'm gonna tell you why I think people are disappointed with the ending and why they have every right to be. Not gonna beat around the bush here. The reason why people felt dissatisfied with the ending is because they were invested in Tsuna's slow and meticulous development. They wanted to see his growth and how he was gonna settle into his destined role as the Vongola X. It doesn't matter whether or not this is something he actually wants for himself. This was what every fan of the series expected. The disappointment comes from the fact that the series essentially leaves us on a cliff hanger where his growth is nowhere near finished and there are countless stories Amano could have still told about Tsuna's journey into adulthood. What he as a character wants is of no consequence to most viewers of the series. Their expectations simply weren't met. It's frustrating. I vividly remember my disappointment and annoyance when I finally read that last chapter on the day it came out. I still feel that way. I always assumed the series got quietly axed by the SJ editorial department because the ending was as rushed as it was. If you read this comment. Thank you. It took me like 5 minutes and I'd hate for it to be wasted time. I've always loved this series and I always will. The ending is just dog shit in my opinion and makes it so I actively can't even in good faith recommend it to my friends.

Hey I appreciate that you watched the two important videos about this specific discussion. Thank you so much for the informative and genuine comment (and don't worry, I made sure I read all of it) Firstly, although I do not agree that being Vongola X for Tsuna leads to a good growth, you did have a point about people's high expectations. I'm not going to blindly make it look like the ending is fine because admittedly even I had issues with it at first. Though I still kinda do to an extent, the ending has its flaws which I do admit but I personally still have a positive look to it. Your opinion is your opinion and I'm glad you're able to express your disagreement in a good way (it's been awhile since I've read one, you have no idea) Secondly, I do apologize for the unnecessary long video... This was made a long time ago and I did recently realized that longer videos in my channel aren't a good way to go with.. Hell, I made the same mistake at my Q&A (which isn't the case... I just had a lot of questions from my audience) BUT, your comment did inspire me to create at least 10 minute videos from now on and not 30+ minutes this time which I do appreciate. I just let my passionate self speak out about the series willingly no matter the topic, that's how dedicated I am with Reborn and I never put on a timer on how long I could sit and talk about the series. I talk about it for as long as I can that it even to a point that it surpassed my motivation on making or editing videos (But of course, due to this... I eventually practiced with making shorts nowadays in hopes of improving my passionate speaking and my motivation to make videos in a decent length in the future so no worries, I didn't said anything about retiring 😅 I apologize if I make it sound that way) Anyway, what's really important to me is that regardless of whether you agree or disagree with my opinion. I'm at least glad I get to discuss Reborn with my fellow audience. I have more desire of discussing and putting my opinions on the table in hopes of my perspective to be aware rather than making an attempt to change an opinion through force. You get what I mean Thanks a lot once again 🔥

Great vid Decimo. Glad I finally took the time to listen. We spoke a bit about this on Twitter and I do understand the ending more from this. But I still do have to respectfully disagree about Tsuna. I don’t think he needed to change drastically on the outside but more was necessary compared to what we got. Last time I said some of Tsuna’s actions were selfish because of his use of Vongola despite wanting nothing to do with it, changing it’s history, etc. While I understand this was his goal in order to protect his loved ones ultimately this contradicts his “growth” that we got at the end. He realizes himself that he still needs Reborn, he says to himself on panel he has not grown at all. If all you want is to live peacefully and protect your friends how do you do that when your actions constantly contradict how you really feel? How do you protect anyone from anything without choosing to fight knowing who you are and the dangers that brings to your family? Before saying that he was relieved Reborn had returned after a week he stated he could move on without him. We saw for ourselves that was not true. Reborn returns and Tsuna is happy again and remembers his friends. Ultimately at the end of the story my question still is how do you accomplish your one goal without using what you have gained to your disposal and if not at all, what do you need Reborn for? A friend? Or a savior who will fight when you won’t?

I think a lot of people don't like Reborns ending simply because it's kind of a betrayal of expectations, which in itself isn't a bad thing. Tsunas whole journey as a character often involved him rejecting the mafia even as he came to be more involved in it and in the end of the day I think the only way the plot could have Tsuna become the badass stoic mafia boss many fans seem to want him to be is to force him into the situation like the Tsuna in the future arc timeline and personally that wouldn't be a very happy ending. I do however agree with most people that the final arc is ruined by how rushed it is despite me still loving it.

I do wonder where the switch happens since we know in the future tsuna fully becomes the official boss is it later down the line is there something that makes him relent and become the boss or is this a choice he makes

I'd say its funny because whether he likes it or not he was going to become the boss

For me, Tsuna reminds a bit Gohan from Dragon Ball.

Personally, i think that KHR ending manga was some forced. crappy ending? Mmmm..... exist endings much worse than KHR, yeah, has some problems, but not is terrible, but neither good. I heard rumors that KHR was on edge to cancellation on Weekly Jump on 2012, probably was that ending. Despite some problems, yeah. Always thinked that Tsuna is like Gohan from Dragon Ball, he dislike the fights, he only fighting for protect her friends, fathers and and their loved ones. And yeah, and me from 10 years ago, i don't have changed much hehehehe xD, although yes on some things. Yeah, despite some problems the Ending KHR Manga, i don't consider a crappy ending, but yeah, it could having a better ending, yeah. I would liked at least, having a skip time, Tsuna now adult with a job, and maybe stay with Haru and Kyoko on the ending, especially that Tsuna on the last chapters he get interested with Haru. Also, that Tsuna was uncomfortable with Reborn at start on the manga, but later change at point he want protect Reborn on the last arc. Although agreed with some people that the Final Battle against Bermuda was anti-climatic and forced, but well, the manga was on edge to cancellation at time. Interessing video, like. P.S: Sorry my bit crappy english, I'm chilean, i'm plan trying learn and polishing my English on future xd

wait doesn't Tsuna actually become the Neo Vongola Primo since his future self is the boss? or did they change the timeline?
@sorasky36773 ай бұрын
The timeline is different : there will not be a byakuran trying to conquer the world, the arcobaleno won't die, we see in the simon's arc that TYL lambo know how to use his vongola gear that didn't exist in the future we saw ... And tsuna was always called the 10th (even on his coffin) But I assume he'll still become the next boss, either he will really be called "neo vongola primo" or will still be "vongola decimo", probably not by choice or because he wants it, but because he will want to protect peoples. But unfortunately only the author can tell for sure. (Well, don't know if it's consider as canon by Amano or not, but she drew the 15th vongola, so if tsuna become a boss I guess he would still be Decimo)

The fact that something was planned doesn't make it good. I get he doesn't want to be the boss. It is just bad. Also, you seem to like the Future Arc a lot, but for me it is by far the worst arc of the series. It feels like a filler, so bad it is. The reward of this arc is the one that comes after.

Let's just get this out of the way: 1)- Nobody said that "something is planned means it's good", that's never what I implied. All I'm doing is providing points that many readers who complain about the ending overlooked by going back to previous arcs and explain each moment. Yes, the planning thing doesn't necessarily mean it's good but it's not always bad either especially when you truly understand what the series is trying to point out or establishing a theme in a story. 2)- How is it bad? I literally just gave solid points, factual evidence, examples and shown panels that accurately describes Tsuna together with a witness. If you still somehow can't agree with it, have it your way and I respect your opinion. 3)- What's wrong with the Future Arc? Even though I mostly enjoy the Inheritance Ceremony Arc, I admitted that in terms of writing wise, the Future Arc arguably has the most character driven moments within Tsuna and his focused goal, there's a lot of crucial moments in that story event that built up for the ending and for the later arcs. I don't know why you think it's a filler just because you didn't like it. Again, all of this is a agree to disagree situation. If this is your opinion than I have no need to stop you

If 90% of the people disagree with u maybe u are wrong . The ending was dumb it’s like training to be in the nfl then turning down their offer .

I'm going to be brief because I use the google translator xd. I love KHR like the most, but the ending is bad. You contradict yourselves, you say that he is not a reactive protagonist and then that he is reacting to the events that are happening to him. But come on, the laugh is that it's only been a year... Yeah, but you in your life in a year your crush told you no and you've failed Mathematics. The protagonist risks his life 27 times, goes to the future, returns to the past, saves the world, if you don't change and mature with what I know... and that without going into how rushed the entire end of the arc was, the final fight is a meme, it shows that the series was cut and Amano had to close it on the run, but don't say that it's okay, a series that reaches a level so high in the arc of the future you cannot be so compassionate and accept that ending. I guess I'm still hurt that my favorite manga/anime ended so badly, At least i'll always have Steins gate.

For clarification sake, we were at the topic of the character lacking a goal in which people consider them "reactive", thus being called a bad character, there's a difference: "Just because a character lacks a goal, doesn't make them reactive, therefore some characters who lacks goal CAN make proactive decisions" Tsuna does act normal and reacts to things realistically but that's an entirely different topic as we were mostly talking about him having a goal to protect his friends in which people don't consider that a real goal. That being said, this video isn't made to change your opinion so long as you expressed your opinion, either way I appreciate your comment
