The brilliance behind this escapement lies in the fact that it functions at all. Without the inclusion of the silicon detent, it wouldn't operate correctly. I'm sure it's why George Daniels pursued his coaxial escapement instead. Will it ever see series-scale production within the watch industry, I seriously doubt so. And, for this reason, it will never be the greatest movement in horology.

I thought Laurent Ferrier stopped using the natural escapement a couple of years ago because of reliability issues
