Sūrat al-Ikhlāṣ (Arabic: سورة الإخلاص‎) (The Fidelity), aka Sūrat al-Tawḥīd (Arabic: سورة التوحيد‎) (Monotheism) is the 112th Sura of the Qur'an. It is a short declaration of tawhid, God's absolute unity, consisting of 4 ayat. Al-Ikhlas means "the purity" or "the refining", meaning to remain pure and faithful or a state of purging one's soul of non-Islamic beliefs, such as paganism and polytheism. It is the only surah in the Qur'an whose name is not present or has no linguistic ties to within the surah itself.
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ ١
اللَّهُ الصَّمَدُ ٢
لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ ٣
وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌ ٤
Transliteration:
Bismillah Ar-Rahman Ar-Raheem
1 Qul huwa Allahu ahad
2 Allahus-samad
3 Lam yalid walam yulad
4 Walam yakun lahu kufuwan ahad
Translation: Surah 112: Al-Ikhlas (The Unity, Sincerity, Oneness Of God)

According to a hadith, this sura is an especially important and honored part of the Quran:
Imam Malik bin Anas has said that `Ubayd bin Hunayn heard Abu Hurayrah speaking:
"I was walking with the Prophet and we heard a man reciting "Say: He, God, is One" The God's Apostle said: "It is inevitable" I asked "what?": He responded: "Paradise."
Abu Said has narrated that he heard the Prophet saying:
"Isn't every one of you able to recite one third of the Quran during a night?" They thought it was very difficult, so they asked: "Who is able to do that, O Apostle of God?" He responded: "He is God, the One and Only is one third of the Qur'an."
Al-Bukhari reported from Amrah bint Abdur-Rahman, who used to stay in the apartment of Aishah, the wife of the Prophet, that Aishah said, "The Prophet sent a man as the commander of a war expedition and he use to lead his companions in prayer with recitation (of the Quran). And he would complete his recitation with the recitation, 'say He is Allah, One'. So when they returned, they mentioned that to the Prophet and he said, "Ask him why does he do that". So they asked him and he said, "Because it is the description of Ar-Rahman and I love to recite it". So the Prophet said, "Inform him that Allah the Most High Loves him."
This is how Al-Bukhari recorded this hadith in his book of tawhid. Muslim and an-Nisai also recorded it.

Alhamdollillah listen to what my sincere brother Nouman said, " You do not have to have a ph. D. in the studies of Quran to avoid from falling into Shirk, just understand the 4 short verse in suraah 112" It is so true since the people here with Munafiq comments againstNouman believe that you should have a pH.D to explain the quran like the Rabbies that kept knowledge away from people. And they still fell into shirk. I bet you people hate Nouman because even with your degrees you can't stop your shirk and the envy that lives in your heart with your permission. You love shirk in some way or another and a ph.D will not help you get rid of the filth inside you. The simple 4 verses and god's guidance is enough for us to not be like you munafiqeen. The story behind surah 112, it is because some bad experiences Muhammad suffered when he was very little child: 1. Muhammad's father ABDULLAH DIED six months before Muhammad was born. So, Muhammad never got a figure of a father. 2. Shortly after Muhammad's birth, Muhammad was sent to LIVE WITH A FOSTER FAMILY in the desert 3. When Muhammad around four years old, Muhammad was taken away from the foster family and given to his mother Aminah. But so sadly, Muhammad's mother AMINAH DIED when Muhammad was six years only. Muhammad was under care of His mother just two years. 4. Custody then Muhammad fell to his grandfather ABDUL MUTTALIB WHO DIED two years later So sadly again, He could find a mother's figure from his first and only wife Khadija but KHADIJA also DIED when she was 56 years old, just 16 years together with Muhammad. After that he took many wives which broke his own revelation surah 4: 3.

because that question is incorrect to ask in the first place. for example of an incorrect question --- what is the population of france the capital of london? --- see my point? the hadith goes rather than asking that incorrect question, ask a correct one -- which the sahabas asked was there anything before Allah SWT, and the Prophet pbuh said nothing is before Allah swt
