In-depth review: TomToc Minimalist EDC Sling bag

I just received and started carrying the Xpac version of this bag and I love love love it! I am a full-bodied Wisconsin Badger/ Green Bay Packer fan and I really appreciate how long the strap is! Also, they've changed the logo from what was on the original bags it's more discreet in that it's not this big full lettered word and more of a design logo. The buckle looks more refined, while it's not the magnet seated clasp and it's still plastic it doesn't have the same squared-off institutional clip mentioned in your review. The inside being blaze orange contrasts my almost exclusively black carry items.

I just got one of these yesterday ... so far it's really slim and doesn't slide around on my back which is a plus as well. Since it's so slim, i have a bigger bag i use when I need to carry more and so far, this fits right inside the other bag without any issue. Looks like a winner!

I just bought this bag and I love it. It seems very durable and holds everything I carry on a daily basis. It's size is very deceiving. And it's price point is about half of the major players. So hopefully it holds up well. I have confidence in it. Great video

This one is awesome. I've had fanny packs i've carried across my chest for years now and it really started to become cumbersome and annoying in the last year or so. Fanny packs were never meant to be worn as cross body bags, the straps just do not align properly across your chest and with so many of them, the strap would loosen after adjusting it. But, the trend started with fannys! So i'm glad i found this one! Great to see companies making slings that look like fanny packs but are meant to be worn like a traditional messenger or sling!

Copped mine for a euro trip and it fit everything I need to carry. To add I use the side anchors with a carabiner to clip on a water bottle holder. 🤙🏼

Bought this one this week, happy with the size - not too bulky but very easy to get things in and out. I think they’ve made an update though, there is no longer any excess strap to flap around. So the look of the strap is much cleaner (although still a big plastic buckle).

It's now available in 11" and 14" sizes... Also other colors as well for the regular(small) size... AOTM I own the AER Day Sling 2, was considering the TomToc EDC sling at first, but It doesn't seem fit to my color favor. Since they now release new color ways, I'll wait till they venture to XPAC material, which way durable than the Corduras...

Super late comment, but I stumbled upon this video after wanting to learn about this bag and having just got this bag for Christmas. I have been rocking the Tomtoc Premium Urban 26L Backpack for a few months now, and was so impressed that I then wanted the sling bag as well when I go out and dont want/need a full size bag. The materials, design, and utility is incredible impressive at a price point so much lower than the other premium brands, yet I would say in almost all respects, Tomtoc can keep up, if not top, some of their expensive competitors!!! Gotta say I love the aesthetic and clean style of your videos! Keep it up! Just gained a new sub!

Brother, to be honest I just purchased this bag because of this specific videos. It took me some time to save money cuz it little bit pricey here. My thoughts of this sling is truly awesome. It really help me organize my stuff. You see my line of work really need a quick grab of my stuff. A backpack would solve the problem but it doesn't offer quick access. A normal sling messenger bag is tend to stay on the side. But Tomtoc sling stay in the back which is really good for working in small environments. Anyway it's a great sling and thank you bro. - Sorry for long comment😂

A similar pack is the Cotopaxi Coso 2L hip pack. The main advantage is the semi-beaver tail at the front (if you remove or cut the sides of the open compartment). Another option perhaps.

Maurice you should take a look at the Wandrd D1 fanny... The push buckle is a deal breaker for me, i like the magnetic fidlock slide better on slings. I see some bellroys have been incorporating the slide fidlock as well..

I immediately returned the latest Tomtoc 3.5 ltr. My tools don't fit in it. Too narrow and not deep enough. Why? Because I have to take 2 pairs of glasses + smartphone + wallet + keys + small paperbook and lots of other small things. And I don't want to start searching and rummaging all the time But, thanks for the tip with PeakDesign. That could work ;-)

It's hard to find a really nice quality and comfy to use EDC Sling Bag nowdays. Most of the big brands came with a very high prices on my opinion. After do an hour of searching on the internet, i found this TomToc Sling Bag on my local online shopping platform. Design looks good and got a very pleasant feedback from every users. The prices is their killing factor to be honest. But i still need to watch some reviews on KZbin and ur videos just convince me to get it straight away. There's several others videos about this particular sling bag but it's all rubbish. Urs currently got the best detail and information i needed. If u can show us how do it looks when wearing the bag and how comfy it is that would be even better. However, Thank you very much for the videos and it's already helps me a lot. I almost went for this but then I found the Tomtoc Urban Commute which for me has a better pockets layout since it has two compartments at the bag's full height, instead of a front pocket at just 2/3 of the bag's height. I love that there's many small EDC options though!

Unfortunately, I don’t think it will - I just measured again, and the central height is tall enough but the slight tapered sides just won’t accommodate your chrome book, especially since the thickness of the chromebook itself will reduce some of the wall height 😔
