In Dreams is a poem written by my dear friend Jade T. Blocker (b. 1996). I chose this piece to end my recital, as in less than a month my senior class will be parting ways. I will certainly miss all my friends, but our fruitful journeys await.
I see the scintillating stars
And the ever radiant moon,
A stoic field of evergreens,
And flowers that bud and bloom.
What was certain is now ambiguous,
Yet I am fluid in the freedom of faith
Humbled by the vast unknown,
My fruitful journey awaits.
The sun crests on the horizon
I feel the warmth of golden rays,
Enveloped in love, joy, and light
I welcome a brand new day.
