@Ryanopuffs12 жыл бұрын
In Flames has the most definable and recognizable guitar sound. Their sound is so original. I could hear any lick at anytime and know its them just by the tone of the guitars.

"Bear with us please". Bjorn never has confidence in any of these lessons but always nails it lol

In Sweden Björn isn't just only a name, Björn is the swedish name for bear (The animal). So I always find it hilarious when Gelotte says "Bear with me".

I’m pretty sure he said that in reference to the fact that the song is played in C Standard and their guitars were tuned to Drop Bb so they could play they’re more modern stuff.
@Jak2star6 жыл бұрын
thismortalcoil696 Jester Race Through Reroute is C Standard with a few songs in Drop Bb like Ordinary Story, Pinball Map, and Colony. Soundtrack and everything after is all in Drop Bb and they usually just play older songs in that tuning with minor adjustments.
@Jak2star6 жыл бұрын
thismortalcoil696 yeah. Transparent from reroute is in Drop G. In Flames usually does a good job of utilizing the melodic end of the lower tunings and using lower tunings in a very creative way. Even on later albums. I throughly enjoy Reroute Soundtrack and Come clarity, and I really like some of the stuff from Sense of Purpose like Mirrors Truth and I’m The Highway. Once Jesper left is when I think the band went south.

To add to the correct answer that Qbyk95 gave, it's a Gibson Les Paul *Custom* with EMGs. You can tell it's a custom by the graphic on the head stock and the square fretboard inlays. The Standard and the studio both have trapezoidal inlays, I believe.

In Flames ftw!! Hey guitarists out there, what devices should I need to reproduce that "hard" but cleanish kind of sound? He says, use a compressor, so I guess that's a start. Also what kind of guitar, amp and maybe other things should I need to sound like this?
@cmc4783413 жыл бұрын
@andyskagr I believe its not that the new songs are bad.. they are good, but compared to what In Flames was from Their First Ep / Cd to Clayman, they could do so much bother. Personally I think Reroute to Remain still sounded pretty oldschool. Soundtrack is where I believe they changed. Come Clarity was so close to being old school, then they put out ASOP and SOAPF.. lol.

@woeliewoeliewoelie hey mate! the solo is not hard at all, pretty easy and straightforward solo. no fast alternate picking passages, no sweeps, no crazy tapping, no arpeggios, no open string legato passages so yeah it's quite manageable. but at start everything is very hard but keep your spirit high, you will play these eventually. about practice question; everything is a good practice to play! it will teach you something (if not technique-wise then inspire you musically)

well they have more than 7 studio albums, that is a lot of music to remember.
@stevepwn9 жыл бұрын
na i think that in flames writes all these riffs and songs and then they get the names after the songs are written, so he knew how the song goes but he forgot which song it was because he/jesper wrote all the riffs so its confusing
@FusRoDah29 жыл бұрын
***** Jesper founded the band, he was a huge part of their band. The last two albums, Sounds of a Playground Fading, and Siren Charms, would have still been released if the Jesper was in the band, the albums would have been better. Jesper left the band because of alcoholism and family matters. Jesper was not the the only master behind In Flames, Bjorn and Jesper together is what made old In Flames so fucking good, with either of them gone, it is not the same.
@thepredator666qc49 жыл бұрын
+FusRoDah2 they said he left for that reason but i have a feeling thats not the real one
@FusRoDah29 жыл бұрын
Yan Jod Ah, only the band truly knows. It's sad that Jesper will most likely never return to the band. They need to realize that we are not expecting them to do a "Colony Part II" we just need some more MDM.
@88omair11 жыл бұрын
Bjorn finds it so difficult to play leads live, Jesper's so much more fluid
@sirzechsazazel11505 жыл бұрын
I know this is a really old comment lol, but it makes sense because Bjorn actually was a drummer before he truly learned to play the guitar after the first albums. He's also gotten a lot better

Not even Bjorn can play it properly, hahaha. The recording has some much better pull off stuff instead of those weird bends he's doing here at the beginning.
