If you are listening In Flames's discography backwards, from the new stuff to the oldest ones, it almost looks like seeing the story of a shitty, hipsterish, alt band becoming one of the greatest Melodeath legends out there.

Feels kind of weird hearing Anders screaming his low growls, which he probably hasn't done in years since the Colony Tour. He started using his high pitch screams in Clayman. I felt the band was never really the same after Jesper left. It just comes to show that he was the soul writer of the band and without him, their just another Swedish band on the bill.

When he could scream, he really was dope for these songs... But now, dunno if because of age, he sounds like a frog both while screaming and while singing clean; he really is better at growling as of now Not by chance, they used to play these songs in screwm rather than growl, during the 2004ish era... This is really the time for them to go back to their older style, as that would be an actual change
@zeitxgeist4 жыл бұрын
@@Speed4Runs Anders was never, ever a good vocalist. His growled vocals are very forced and strained, you can hear it here, you can hear it in the recordings all the way up until Colony when he stopped trying to do that and used his natural voice for it; even this was poor -- listen to the records -- it's processed and layered as hell and it's never been as evident before as it is in the Clayman re-recording (and here), where he has no vocal layering to back him up.
