The fact that they played The Chosen Pessimist after this track was just perfect. The slow intro really let this song to sink in, with everything happening right now. I was almost at the front and there was quite a few tears in the crowd. I will never forget Sweden Rock 2022.

Honestly most the songs on I The Mask are already better than any of the songs from The Halo Effect. Even though Halo Effect is more "truer to form" melodeath I feel like all songs theyve released so far have pretty generic, with a few ideas stolen from Amorphis or Insomnium, which is ironic since Insomnium was probably inspired by old In Flames
@christophersanzo18332 жыл бұрын
They would never do that, pretty ridiculous assumption but hey that’s what fickle fans do 🤷♂️ the new album is gonna be wonderful 🤘🔥

People saying this sounds like old In Flames need their hearing checked. Not saying its bad, but the riffage is basically no different than what you would hear on Battles. And the vocals are more metalcore than death metal. Not hating, I loved their latest album, but In Flames will never sound like they did in the old days.
@niikkeranang2 жыл бұрын
Anders sounds like Anders idk what to say there.. it dosnt sound like old in flames. and they prolly never will, but they have kept changing their sound from album from album so who's surprised. i think it sounds awsome. and i was there live to se it.
@CraftyApe2 жыл бұрын
@@niikkeranang well yes I agree. But Anders harsh vocals these days are different to the old days. I think its as a result of vocal training, but it is for the better as now his harsh vocals live are much better than they used to be. But the style is different... Listen to his lows in the earlier stuff (jester race - colony) and his highs on clayman onwards and compare to his vocals in I The Mask. The new harsh vocals have a bit more of a definite pitch. But yes In Flames always changed styles but their first 5 albums were their best by far.
@Sentienthermostat2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I don't know if I'd say it sounds like "old in flames" as in the first 5 albums, but this definitely reminds me of something you'd hear on come clarity which I'll definitely take over their more recent material.
@clayman412 жыл бұрын
I've thought the same thing....Old In Flames?? I definitely don't hear it. But I suppose "old" is subjective. Definitely doesn't sound anything like pre Come Clarity. The main riff is reminiscent of Everything's Gone....perhaps mixed with an I, The Mask Feel. And I totally agree about Anders vocals. Believe they are heavily compressed and saturated and he has better vocal control now, which really makes them sound gritty. His screams in early era was more traditional MDM style. Plus I absolutely hate the short wah solos Bjorn does....there's no emotion to them IMO....so that plus lack of MDM melodies makes this still sound like modern In Flames to me. So I dunno what people are hearing, but I don't hear old in flames here. Not hating on it either as I think the track is fairly solid compared to recent efforts, but doesn't hit me the same way "old" In Flames did.
