The name of the drummer is Tanner Wayne, I've been a fan of him for quite sometime. He actually played in Chiodos for a couple of years. He worked on the album Illuminaudio, really great drum work throughout that album.

In Flames were one of the best live shows I've ever seen. they sounded EXACTLY like they do on the record. It was surreal. Anders was exceptional.

Haha I was just going to say the same thing. It reminds me a _lot_ of Blinded by Fear, except for the melodic singing part that is absolutely classic In Flames. But hey, if you're going to sound like any melodic death metal album, Slaughter of the Soul is literally the best one in my personal opinion, so no complaints on my end

I love this. This was like being reunited with an old friend who'd been away at rehab for a while. I was heavily into In Flames in the early 2000s, along with Soilwork, Darkane, At The Gates, Dimmu Borgir, Cradle of Filth, Children of Bodom, and Opeth. This brought me back 20 years to the same sort of feelings I had then, and damn was that nice. Just like you said: THANK YOU!

In Flames is definitely a band I will always love. They were one of the bands that helped me through my Highschool days. Not to mention I would shred their songs on Guitar Hero when it was cool lol. And as someone else mentioned there are no bad In Flames songs.

Definitely their best song in many moons. Part of me died inside when he said Reroute and Soundtrack for classic In Flames. While by comparison those albums are now great, at the time they were the beginning of the end for Jester Race - Clayman In Flames.

I'm a newer fan of the band so I got into them through like I, The Mask, but since then I've blasted through their discography. And this is straight up some 2000's vibes, like Clayman? Come Clarity? I like I, The Mask, but damn, I'm pumped for that back-to-the-roots sound. Can't wait for that record.

For me personally, there is no bad In Flames. But there are albums that dont bring me as much happiness. But it is an absolute treat to hear a return to an older sound for them!! The mixture of the old in with the new is amazing. Hopefully there is a new album coming out soon.

I do enjoy some of their newer material too but they are definitely not on the same as their classic albums. Like I love Sounds of a Playground Fading and put that on the same level as albums like Colony and Clayman.

Old fart here... Was "raised" on In Flames too, only that was (a bit) The Lunar Strain and then mostly the "trinity" of Jester Race, Whoracle and Colony... They were my favorite band in the second half of the 90's. I'm so glad to see them back to something resembling their former grandeur!

So, i was at Nova Rock last week. I got covid after, but i saw InFlames there. Worth it. They played state of slow decay there and you could tell imidiatly that its a vibe. In my opinion one of the best live metal bands in the last 25 jears. They leave it all up on stage, and for that we can only be grateful.

Sounds like a track off Sounds of a playground fading / A sense of purpose. I think Nik explained it great, this sense of energy lacked and I'm so happy they brought it back. I feel like the key is in the drums, I don't know if they changed the drummer recently, but I haven't heard such energetic fast-paced drumline for a while in an In Flames song. Combined with the perfect riffing, it's a whole another vibe.
