Thank you so much. I have a cousin buried in Rouen France. I’ve never been there.. He died in the first world war and as far as I can discover from family he cheated his age to join up and died aged 16. So sad. They must be remembered.

Yes, it's important we continue to remember, if only for the sake of future generations.

When we were there at the end of September there was a wedding in the hall next to "In Flanders Fields". And over a 100 Harley Davidsons outside.... The noise was deafening when they started. The interactive museum is superb.

I was at this museum this year. Amongst the many shocking things man does in war, I read in the horse section that if a farmer in Belgium finds a horse skull in the field . He knows that nearby there is likely to be 8 artillery shells buried nearby

There ate still tons of munitions in the ground after over a hundred years.

Did you know that the first and last officially recorded soldiers killed in WW1 are both buried in the same cemetery in St Symphorien military cemetery in Belgium. They are only a few yards apart this happened purely by coincidence apparently. Private John Parr was officially the first to be killed, it happened 17 days after Britain entered the war. The last was private George Ellison who was killed at approx 09-30 on November 11th 1918 about 90 minutes before fighting ended. I’ve visited this cemetery and have seen both graves, quite ironic they were both buried so close to each other.

Yes we did know that, we visited the cemetery in 2017. Jenny’s Great Grandfather was a Royal Engineer at Mons in 1914. He survived and named his daughter born in 1915 Nancy Mons. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bJu9XoGVjq2AaK8si=t1soKwO5zAyHj-Pa
