Because of the way KZbin works, this is the second video I've watched on Little People. What strikes me (average size) is how kind and gentle those interviewed have been.

I don't have dwarfism, but I am only 4'10". I just come from a family of very short people. I've been asked a lot if I am a little person. My husband is 6'5" and we often get stared at in public. But most people are staring because of how tall he is, not how short I am. One of my best friends is a little person, as are most of her family members. I LOVE their houses because everything is the right size for me too. I always feel very at home with them. 💖💖💖

Size doesn't matter . That is not the person as it's what's inside that counts . I've only recently met a little person at the grocery store who asked me to help her reach some frozen food . Well , I'm just 5 foot tall and the item wanted was on the top shelf of the standing frozen food cabinet . There were only 4 packages left which were at the very back of the cabinet which I couldn't reach either , so I tried to climb up and still couldn't reach . Sharon and I both broke out laughing because I could only reach the one package and since she wanted 2 we needed to ask the stock boy in the next aisle for assistance . We started to chat a bit and after completing our shopping we went out for coffee together . We enjoyed each other's company so much that we made a future date for coffee and now we share a lovely friendship .

Thanks for letting us (suppost to be normal) to know people like you guys, they're amazing people, not matter is they are tall, ittle or average. They have values, they are smart, they posses talents like every other person in the world. Please treat them with respect, teach your kids never call them midget, that's too ofensive. Be respectable, never stop to look up them like if they were from another planet. Remember you never know, be afraid of the karma.

I am a six feet tall woman. I have a friend in a wheelchair and she prefers for us to sit when talking to her. That way she can be an active part of conversation. Is that something we should do with conversing with little people? Thanks and great video.
@HighTen_Melanie6 жыл бұрын
Carol Morter I’m in a wheelchair and that is a really ignorant comment.
@Mami_Loca4 жыл бұрын
@@HighTen_Melanie I don't see her comment as ignorant. She was only stating what HER FRIEND in a wheelchair preferred. And she followed up with a question that she was genuinely interested in finding out what the proper way would be to communicate with a smaller person "at eye level". That's someone who cares, even though you may not have liked how she asked. But asking is the beginning of educating. She shouldn't be insulted or shot down because she wants to be respectful or thoughful. If anything, YOUR comment is ignorant. My father has been in wheelchairs all his life and he, unless he's conversing to someone in passing, will always say, "Please...have a seat" so he can conversate comfortably without having to have his head looking up the whole time.

I have a question about the term midget. If a midget is a person who is short but proportional, then why is it a derogatory term for a dwarf? Personally, I would be more offended to be called a dwarf because of its use in literature or movies. If a dwarf hates being called a midget, does that mean a midget should feel inferior because that's a derogatory word?
@pixiebile96635 жыл бұрын
It's derogatory because of its origin. Freaks shows for example. Trust me you wouldn't be more offended being called dwarf. Dwarf is a medical term. That would should not be used under any circumstances. Not even if it's a "correct" term to use.

@@MyAlvaro777 That's me personally. Little person is the preferred term if you absolutely need to use a term. Other than that the person name is obviously best. I personally don't mind "dwarf". It's just a shortening of dwarfism so it doesn't bother me. It does bother other with dwarfism however Midget is derogatory. So I would obviously be less offended by dwarf

It's really interesting to see how different cultures have different meanings for words. In germany, for example, the equivalent for "Dwarf", Zwerg, would be a terrible insult to little people and i can't imagine anybody using the word. Unthinkable, almost as insulting as the n-word for black people. Whenever i'm in the US hearing the term "dwarfism" makes me totally uncomfortable.

Talking about little matters, who can help me find shoes for A man with small feet? Like size 39 eu or 7 us ???
@kd5txo4 жыл бұрын
Try shopping in China (AliExpress) for shoes where the average person is smaller. Never mind the prices being better too. I once ordered an Extra Large goose down coat....when it came, it was about the size of an average 10 year old. I wound up keeping it because the price was so low....then, I gave it away to a suitably sized child.
