Even though at some points these remakes may not be 100% accurate, I feel like they're enough of the way there at this point that all the key sound design concepts have been understood enough where when used in original works, they'll really capture that early 2010s vibe. Anyway really killer remake, it makes me so happy that people are still keeping this genre alive. I love Skrillex's new stuff too but this style is too good to not be explored more.

When you remade a song and upload it on YT and copyright appears, then it means you did a good job! 👍🔥 Btw, I've read some comments mentioning the lack of sidechain, but we must remember that sidechain is just one more technique to have a slightly cleaner mix. It is not strictly necessary to apply sidechain, although it is advisable to do so.

This one sounds better that the original to be honest. It's wider, warmer, more juicy, more atmospheric. Mastering is worse, there is less pressure, but still, it sounds better in some ways.

Dude this is absolutely insane! Most remakes out there flat out suck. Also I know its extremely hard to have recreated it but I'm guessing the bass at 2:24 is partially made via granular stretching(mayyybe using a massive wavetable as the source sound).

The granularness of it comes from abletons timestretch modes. I’d assume it was just a piece of audio that was alr in the song that was just stretched and mayyybe pitched around but I could not tell u if that source was the laroux acapella or the angry German kid or whatever

in all seriousness this is pretty ridiculous. Getting the mix right for ANY remake is incredibly hard, regardless of what youre remaking. Ive always found remaking basses and growls the hardest, i end up with something similar, just not quite right. What is your process for getting it so close, just trial and error?

I plan on going over the theory for way I approach most sounds but from what I’ve learned most of the basses are very similar it’s just gentle speech ai or modern talking in to a scream and maybe another filter like a band pass or double notch then it’s just distortion and like 1-2 otts

Most of his patches are a combo of the same few wavetables into a scream and another filter in massive some distortion sprinkled in and 1-3 otts XD I do have some more longform content if ur interested in that. More general techniques I use in these remakes there
