He can talk what he wants lah..but I present the facts to you..this yr 1% GST show prices of goods and services all raised 10 to 20 and even 30%...which means if you only earn $5000 nett after deduction you will find it tough to raise a family of even 2 kids, including loans to repay. Another 1% next yr, means your $5000per mth have to be at least over $6500 nett to cope with next yr rise in cost. Will you get a raise of at least $1500per month next yr? I know Lawrence will, as a matter of fact, his raise is in a hundred of thousands per month, no less. So WHO DID YOU VOTED FOR?😁😆😆😆😆😆

His 4G team does not have ppl of quality like Raja, Goh Keng Swee, Hon Sui Say, Toh Chin Chye etc. He is only repeating what those pervious useless batch like Lim Swee Say, Lim Boon Heng etc did to re-train, re-skill, more recognition for vocational skills ,moving to uncharted areas, NO ONE GETS LEFT BEHIND and all the crap, already said a millions times to be used as wayang comes every election day! A total wayang. So after 30 over yrs, what and where are we now? The pervious batch wanted to train locals, get them more productive BUT FAILED. So after 30 over yrs, the gov resorted to cheap labor, instead opening the doors wide for skilled FTs in all sectors to repaced the locals saying ...locals despite their WORLD CLASS EDUCATION...LACKED THE SKILL and as for the locals in every sector ,the wages of lower and middle tier locals get suppressed for decades. And Lawrence knowing this all too well from the 80s right to now, is now trying to sell 'snake oil' hope of success to these folks whose pay NOW cannot cope with the rising cost. But of course ,many locals have been daft, way too daft to have believe this establishment for decades of promise leading to a Swiss standard of living, asset like a HDB pigoen hole you can retire on and even such asset whose price will NEVER DROP! Well, I do hope in 2025, such daft locals wake up or else you will first see the many MG and PG folks literally DYING ALL OVER THE PLACE beside inside their HDB pigoen hole.

LW is once again talking nonsense in his May Day Rally speech. In his speech, he claimed current public housing remains affordable as compared to the 80's. Despite acknowledging improvement in technology and production, he thinks Singaporeans today deserve the same standard of housing as those back in the 80's. It is as if Singaporeans are stuck in the past despite modernization. Technology makes home better and cheaper. A good government would be able to achieve that for citizens without having them to fork out more of their income. In a ideal world, Singaporeans would have better hosing and still be able to keep more of their higher income. PAP is an obsolete party. They are not innovative and use old solutions to meet future challenges. LW as PM would produce similar results as LHL, higher taxes and limited growth. Singaporeans must not gamble with their future and naively think that PAP alone is gong to make the country better. Do not trust the PAP. Do not vote the PAP. Vote opposition. Like this comment to commit your vote to the opposition in the upcoming GE.

What a braindead comment, automation is not just a fun choice because it sounds cool, it's the only option since we have a declining population and less people wanting immigrants to do the repetitive jobs that are necessary for society to function. Younger Singaporeans don't want to be dishwashers or pick up trays at the hawker center after people finish eating. Those jobs don't pay as much as they want to be paid and those jobs are clearly no longer sufficient to pay for the standard of living. Unless you want the standard of living to be cheaper and lower quality, then moved to a different country that's less developed. Ask any Singaporean of the next generation, the ones in schools today, the ones graduating this year or the next, they don't want to replace the jobs of dishwashers, they in fact do want highly skilled jobs, even rocket scientist for the more ambitions. Just because you can't expect yourself or your peers to be rocket scientists or aspire to to do something more ambitions or have the means to and education to achieve this in your generation, doesn't mean that the next generation and the more educated incoming youth workforce should have such aspirations deemed unrealistic. It is no question that the education in Singapore is highly competitive and other countries have their private sector education out compete their public schools, whereas in Singapore they are on par. Your sort of thinking holds the country back and limits the range of possibilities and the ability to achieve the means to fill the needs of the future. With the education young people have today, how can it be reasonable to expect them to be happy not to use automation for these menial tasks and apply themselves in the way they wish with the education and skills they've gained by their hard work, to achieve the life they want, the pay they want, and the time and freedom to make the most and contribute the most they may so wish to do.

Imagine a population density of more than 10,000 per sqkm and people living in compact spaces in perpetual. There will be huge, huge social and political problems. But the ruling elites are still trying to manipulate the people like sheep. The younger generations have bee robbed. You're naive if you think the 4G PAP can survive the wrath of Singaporeans, especially from the younger deprived generations. Smart idea. Emigrate to cities like NYC buying US$720K private housing (median sales, small-home/not a condo nor coop) and paying US$5000+ median tax (2017 data) annually. I don't think so. They provide you with clean water daily. That is the main basic necessity that you should be grateful for. Other countries don't even have water. They buy mineral water or take it from the river which is polluted. Early part, Singapore doesn't even have water but they gradually build many reservoirs, build desalinate sea water and recycle used water to cater to the needs of the people but the people complain like crazy on all issues.
