I seem to remember that in the book you can't tell at the end if they made it somewhere real, or if they died and he was dreaming it in heaven or something. I never understand in this story why everyone else remembers when he leaves???

did you know you are a sinner? But did you know that Jesus loves you and He can change that? All you have to do is believe Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead 3 days later, repent, and give your life to God, Jesus loves you, it’s your choice if you want to accept or denie Him.

so, the way to break the whole system is by passing through a barrier? why couldn't the old Giver do that? feels rather far-fetched, including the instant recognition everybody has about their true self, feelings and emotions. could that father truly have instantly acknowledged the situation? i would have expected everybody to fall to the floor holding their heads while trying to adapt to the newly aquired emotions. as such, the ending is rather lacking for me.

First book that I read that stayed in my memory after more than a decade. I still remember when I was in theaters watching previews for up coming movies when I was first announced. I swore the scenes shown and certain details were so familiar and just before the title for whatever this film was, internationally and outwardly, I said “wait a minute, isn’t this-?” and like if it were the opening to an episode to Invincible, the title dropped with perfect timing. I lost a good pare of pants that day and the chair I occupied might’ve had to have been removed by a biohazard team.
