thank you! the icons for each item or entity are prerendered in the sense that i just screen shit them from the game haha. I just throw them into a photo editing software and clean them up. everything else in game is realtime 3d

I think this is the way to go, I feel like it might be the only way to truly 100% make it so there aren't unpassable or dud levels. Thanks for sharing the idea
