I bought my daughter a Douk-Douk after she completed BMQ. After she graduated from BMOQ-A, I got her a RAT 3 with a kydex sheath. Next year, after IODP-1, I will get her an Eickhorn Solingen bayonet for her C7.

Old dude here. My favorite of what you showed was your grandpa's Case. Other than that a couple of the autos and simpler designs stood out but most everything else wouldn't be my choice. Interesting that song your cat assortments you didn't show any fixed blades. That's the beauty of collecting knives though. Your collection is your owns and doesn't have to answer to anyone else's tastes or ideals. I appreciate someone who's passionate for edged things though so like and subscription earned.

Great collection. I have been collecting for over 40 years. My grandpa is the one who got me started in collecting. He was also a collector. I find it very interesting in the many different styles and brands that people collect. I now have two grandkids of my own (5 week old grandson and 10 1/2 month old grand daughter). I hope they have an interest in knives some day. Time for me to start shopping for their first knives. 😁 Thank you for sharing your awesome collection!

I have a lot of knives, no where near this many. This is a ton of moneys worth, I have some pretty expensive knives, but there are many that you have and I’ve never heard of the brands. It’s cool to see your passion. I feel like you’d want my Spyderco Manix 2 jade g10 cpm m4.

I have some of my grandfather’s knives and there’s nothing wrong with keeping them clean. Use some 3in1 oil on the “dirty” spots. Just to keep the rust at bay. Just apply a little wipe off. And as far the age of the Case knife, it’s all in the tang stamp. Imma try to pause it on the it to see.

Your grandpa’ knife was my favorite. I love Case knifes but the story behind this keepsake knife is the best. I believe you can determine the year of manufacture of Case XX knives by the dots on the tang stamp. That’s about all I know. The Knife Chats with Tobias channel guy on KZbin could definitely tell you.

Look at the tang stamp on the main blade on your grandpa's case. You should be able to figure out the year it was made or a range of years if it's really old. There's lots of charts online to look at that will show you different tang stamps and the dot system.

So impressive. I'm mostly a Japanese kitchen knives, nice outdoors-oriented fixed blades, and then folders kind of collector, and some of my favorite folders are pretty modest in the hierarchy but good enough for the likes of me. But I know enough about what's out there to see a long progression of the highest-end stuff you can put your hands on. And I can relate to the grandpa part; I have a collection of sharpening stones that were my great-grandfather's. He was a shoemaker in Philly in the early years of the twentieth century, and of course knives were a big part of that, and I have my grandfather's Swaty razor hone, so it's a connection to a different time. My grandfather (never really knew the great-g) was a hell of a good guy who died when I was 10. Once in a while I use that stone, and his humor and warmth are a little closer. My own collection brings me closer to people doing incredible work that I admire. I can only imagine what all the workmanship in that cabinet means to you. My favorite? Easy-that Benchmade stiletto-style auto. Sweet! They're illegal in Pennsylvania, although you can have them as a "curio." I think autos are way fun but for the moment I'm just not dealing with the uncertainty. Eager to see what kind of fixed blades you have. Aaaaaand subbed. : )

Holy moly that’s a lot of knives . That’s cool I get it. I used to collect snare drums. I had at least 100 snare drums. I ended up selling them . Then I collected fidget spinners. Hundreds of them. Made quite a few. I stopped collecting them but I do still have them. Now I’m into slingshots. I have 3 drawers full of slingshots. I made quite a few myself out of tree limbs. That’s my latest , I still collect them.

Even though I'm not a knife guy I can appreciate your collection. I only own four knives nothing fancy and they're all fixed blades. Just never had a use for a pocket knife. I'm just used to wearing a push dagger as a neck knife and a good boot knife.

I have exactly the same Case knife that was also my Grandfathers! I carry a Case Trapper knife in my pocket at all times and I also use "Crock Sticks" to keep it razor sharp. Great video!

I recently moved house and cleared most of my folders out by giving away almost 30 of them to friends, family, and some former colleagues who are still serving. I kept 2 each of Civivi Elementum, PM2, Sebenza, a couple of Benchmade, some old Case folders that my father and grandfather used to use, and I recently took delivery of one of Farid's mini K2 folders, which is an amazing knife !

Try the vintage Microtech Ultratech square body otf pre 2006. Also try a vintage Microtech Daytona UTX if possible. Or the Microtech Talon, Exodus, Nemesis, and Halo 1, 2 and 3. You'll love these. Great upload!
