I’m a sweet soft November. I’m neutral and dark. I borrow from both both deep and dark autumn and winter. I don’t fit neatly into a category because I have ashy cool black hair, warm chestnut eyes and pinky lips. My skin is a neutral olive. I look better in charcoal than in black. I look great in brown as long as it’s not too pinky or warm.

Hi Ladies, L❤VE your channel!! Im obsessed with color analysis. It's so much fun! I was told growing up in the 70s/80s that if your olive skined, you have to be cool. The only colors I liked were burgundy, black and anything very deep. I look horrible in pink, bright colors and pastels. I tried some warm colors that were too intense/bright on me as well. So, I figured I just didn't look good in color. When KZbin started having color analysis videos available, I started playing around with depth and chroma. I assumed I was a soft cool palette, because I still couldn't wrap my head around olive skin having warm undertones . The softer deep colors were better, but still not right. It was not until I combined my colors having warmth, depth and softness I FINALLY found a color palette that looks consistently good on me. Unfortunately, I didn't come to this realization until I was in my late 50s. I still see people on KZbin saying there are no warm olives. This is so irritating and I can't believe professionals would make such a blanket statement without seeing people first. I can't tell you how much money I have wasted on buying colors that were just not right on me.Just for reference, I have medium (slightly deep)naturally very golden olive skin, deep brown hair with copper highlights and blue green eyes with golden brown flecks around the iris.

On the topic of why some people gravitate towards the wrong colors: I think I may be a spring but those colors felt juvenile, so as I got older and wanted to come off as professional, etc. I started buying lots of neutrals (esp cool grays and blacks) and darker or muted tones. The more I dressed in those colors, the the less professional/put together I felt... so the more I dulled down my wardrobe. somewhere along the way I came to believe I needed to dress more "seriously" to be taken seriously, but the colors just made me look diminished and washed out. I'm enjoying my forray into color analysis because it's giving me the freedom to find and wear my colors, whatever they may be, and get to shine again 😊

I go back & forth about spring and fall. If I go by natural hair color...light honey brown. Always has a red element. and green eyes that used to be green hazel, but isn't anymore. Now green with a tad of amber and a blue outer rim. My skin has faded to very pale neutral. But every time I get a compliment I'm in...dark forest green or black. Or ivory & camel. So maybe a bright spring?

I've pretty much known all my life I'm autumn. Sales staff, my family etc always recommended autumn colours for me. The 90s was my makeup era as all the rosewoods, browns and terracotta reds were made for me. Funny how genetics work. I am of Irish heritage, so light medium skin, medium brown hair and gold flecked teal eyes, yet both my boys take after their Indonesian father and have really dark brown hair, deep brown eyes and lovely brown skin. My eldest is a soft autumn, who can dip into soft summer. My youngest is a winter. He looks phenomenal in bright jewel tones and black and white.

I don't think you guys should say if you gravitate towards Certain colors. Because a lot of people are attracted to colors, not in their season.I see it all the time. For instance, I love pastels, but I am a bright winter. I have to decorate with pastels in my house just because I love them so much. I've seen a video where this girl was cool toned, but she loved Brown and neutral, It looked so terrible on her, but she just loved fall colors. And I tried wearing pastels for like years, I knew I was full toned, but I didn't know I was a winter... I'm one of those people that have neutral enough skin where I can pull things off somewhat, but I look so much better in my bright colors. I don't have super dark hair naturally, But I dye my hair darker.It looks so good on me.Everybody always compliments it.! It's like medium. It can even go lighter in the summer. But i'm definitely got a lot of contrast like dark colored lips Fair skin and light colored eyes. Also a lot of younger people that are on social media a lot.It won't be in their color season because they're attracted to the trends. Like warm neutrals are super trendy... It washes people out when it's not in their colors. I think we all get sucked into wearing things out of our colors, because it's what's available in the stores and we're attracted to the color but it's not great on us. Now, that I know my colors, I don't fall into that trap anymore.

I get confused. I feel convinced I am soft summer by watching videos. Along, with being neutral. I love the colors but I am confused with fall because I have always loved brown and mustard yellow and white tshirts and button up shirts and thought I look good in those colors. I do think the white looks better with another color jacket, blazer, sweater of a different color in fall or winter. Like I said, Inlove the soft summer colors as well on me but I still love the brown. I would say my eyes are bluish but some things really bring out the blue distinctively. Thanks for your videos. I’m trying to figure this out so I can minimize my closet a little to make it easier to put things together.

I actually get compliments when I wear highlighter yellow as well as any shade of green and red too, so maybe I’m a mix between summer and spring? I have dark brown hair and fair skin, but warm fair skin if that makes sense. It has yellow undertones. If i put the inside of my arm next to the inside of my Irish husband’s arm, mine looks like the arm of a corpse. He is pale pink, and I’m just pale. lol. The problem comes when you change colouring with age! I was draped as deep autumn, decades ago, then started to colour hair lighter and eye colour went from darkest olive to bright green, as the brown faded from them! My skintone is pale neutral warm ivory, I never was that golden looking skintoned autumn, it was in the hair and eyes. The original analyst retired and have been "done" three times since then, as - warm autumn, bright spring and warm spring, what do you make of that? I can wear dark warm pinks now though (which makes me think bright spring?) and the rusts and warm burgundy shades, which used to wear all the time, make me look washed out and ill. I still wear dark greens, but less brown in them, and more fresher shades, warm but lighter. I have no idea what is happening and don't want to fork out any more money than I already have - lost confidence in colour analysts sadly.

That’s because a lot of redheads have cool fair skin. Think about it this way- to make these decisions you must look at the dominant characteristic. If the redhair is dominant like my daughter Sara- then build your analysis around hair. If skintone is more dominant go with that.

How do you feel about the color olive?
@katalexander16146 ай бұрын
I do believe I am a warm Autumn! I'm unsure though. Also red hair&freckles here, but all my life people told me I can't wear pink or red and tried to stick me in greens all the time and I am such a rebel, so I didn't like feeling like Christmas themed, red and green I probably just hated together because people said I couldn't wear pinks and reds. Now I find the shade my mom so affectionately calls "whore red" in lipstick makes me feel like a 1950s porcelain skinned beauty queen! Love the high contrast, and I find that a lot of pale pinks work well makeup wise anyways. Bold colors are my go to in terms of clothing. Not a lot of white, but that's mostly a dirt factor for me(kids and cooking, I can ruin white clothes) and while I used to rock black (it's slimming I thought) back in the day, I have noticed as I age, the black in my wardrobe now is mostly just an accent to another color, maybe just the notions, the lace or buttons, trim or hem line or maybe a black shawl kind of accent. But I'm a January baby...does that matter? I just noticed you mentioned October.
