Because it still makes me cringe to death and it makes no sense why Clark Kent would call his mother by her first name. The only explanation I can think of is Clark, in his capacity as a reporter, researched Bruce Wayne and what happened to his parents. And even that barely excuses it.

When Henry Cavil was a child, he was playing soccer when Russel Crowe was in town. He took the opportunity to talk to Russel about acting. Many years later, they were acting in this movie. It was a few weeks before he approached Russel and reminded him about the conversation, years before. Not believing it was him (Cavil's childhood nickname was Fat Cavil), he asked what he had told him. Cavil replied, something like, you said they pay you pretty well but treat you like shit. Russel then knew it was him.

@@papalaz4444244 No, Lois not knowing at first is part of the mythos, some instances she falls for Clark kent not Superman, like in the most current Superman & Lois series, there's also humor to it like in Superman the animated series where Clark straight up tells Lois he's Superman she thinks he's joking, Snyder just didn't care about keeping the secret or the dual identity, Cavill Superman didn't bother keeping his secret telling Swanwick he grew up in Kansas, Lois shouting Clark! at Superman in front of a man who gave her a ride to the kent farm, no wonder Luthor knew who clark was and got his mother in BvS, Clark was announced dead in BvS in Daily planet article and Perry + Jenny attended his funeral but Cavill in the Snyder cut doing a shirt rip is wearing Daily Planet clothing so now everyone at the Daily Planet knows Clarks secret huh. Clark Kent secret identity is more than glasses, he changes his demeanor, acts less confident and no one would think Superman has a secret identity they'd just assume he's Superman 24/7, just because we the audience are let in on the secret, doesn't mean if a guy with powers started working at the place you work with you, you'd be able to tell... thanks Warner Bros for the reboot

This is a quick non-spoilery guide through this universe : 1- Man of Steel (Chapter 1) 2 - Batman V Superman : Dawn of Justice (Chapter 2 - Ultimate edition is better) 3 - Suicide Squad (Fun Spin off, though not exceptionnal, you can skip it) 4 - Wonder Woman (Chapter 2.5 - It's an origin story, taking place during WW1, you can skip it but it is really great) 5 - Justice League (Chapter 3 - The Theatrical edition is the offical canon one, but the Snyder Cut is Way better, and prefered by almost everyone. It's 4 hours though) 6 - Aquaman (Chapter 3.5 - An Origin story, not necessary but still great) 7 - Shazam (Spin Off. It's Fun, but not necessary to the Main Story) 8 - Birds of Prey (Again, a Spin Off. It's the following of Suicide Squad) 9 - Wonder Woman 1984 (Underappreciated movie. It has no real implication in the rest of the universe, so not necessary) 10 - The Suicide Squad (It's another spin off, and not linked to the other Suicide Squad Movie. It is far better though) 11 - Black Adam (It was supposed to be the first chapter of the next phase, but eventually did not. Do whatever you what, it's fun, but not exceptionnal) 12 - Shazam Fury of the God (Second movie of the Shazam line, like the first one, it's all up to you, it does not has conequences on the now doomed to die universe) 13 - The Flash (Chapter 4 - It's so the final nail in the DCEU. It is not great, like first Suicide Squad level) 14 - Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (Second movie of the Aquaman saga, with no implication as it is the last movie of the DCEU. It's okay, I guess ?)

Technically James Gunn FIRED Henry Cavill. After the abysmal performance of Black Adam Gunn decided they didn't want Cavill associated with superman in his new DC reboot. Which is extremely shocking because just before Black Adam's release WB confirmed that Cavill had just been contracted to continue as Superman. Lijke days before cinematic release he went on social media and stated that he WOULD be returning as superman and that he was looking forward to reprising his role. But Black Adam under performed and Junn fired him.

Technically Warner Bros and James Gunn didn't fire Henry Cavill or any of the others, Cavill for example signed a 4 movies deal to appear as Superman and he did: Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, Justice League and cameo in Black Adam, now had Black Adam being a success he may have been given a deal for the sequel and was likely told that but there was no contract signed, again Henry Cavill reportedly did not have a written agreement in place to return, Cavill made a mistake announcing his return as Superman without a signed contract, with Black Adam not being a huge success any plans for a sequel were scrapped, James Gunn didn't need to meet with Cavill but did so to explain a reboot is happening and he wants a younger Superman, which he's well within his right to choose to do as its a new DCU

Arguable the BEST Superman performances are from the late Christopher Reeve (RIP) He started as Superman in 1977 and had 4 movies. Also Smallville has arguably the best ever portrayal of Lex Luthor ever on screen in the form of Michael Rosembaum. Then the rest of the 80's and the entire 90's went by and NO superman movie was ever made - though there were a few notable shows. Mostly the 90's series Lois and Clark: The new adventures of Superman. Then on October 16th 2001 Smallville aired the WB Channel which became The CW on October 18th 2006. Smallville told the story of Clark as a teenager learning to adapt to his new powers and discovering where he comes from. It ran for 10 seasons. The 2006 Superman Returns is actually NOT as terrible as people are mentioning in the comments; but because people WANTED more after waiting SO LONG for a big screen superman they felt cheated and just refused to acknowledge that the movie is pretty decent. It's NOT as Epic as THIS movie is definitely, but NOT the total cluster fuck that they complain about either. Finally a little Fun Fact: Two Previous Superman Actors Christopher Reeve & Dean Cain) guest star in Smallville at different times. Also Other Superman Cast members appear as well. Terri Hatcher (Lois in the 90's tv show), Annette O'Toole (Lana Lang in Superman 3), Helen Slater (Supergirl 1984), Margot Kidder (Lois Lane - the Superman movies), Terrance Stamp - but as a voice only (Zodd - Superman 2)

It's also worth watching "Superman Returns", which is an underrated continuation of the 1978 Christopher Reeve Superman quadrilogy. Brandon Routh turns in a touching performance as Superman, and Kevin Spacey has some really funny moments as Lex Luthor. It's no Man of Steel, but it's not bad. If you do see it, try to spot Richard Branson's cameo as one of the space shuttle astronauts.

Happy Birthday Blue!!! Excellent reaction, I’m so glad you liked it. You talked about how people are gonna hate Superman because of the destruction, that’s exactly what Batman v Superman is about. And please make sure that you watch the R rated Ultimate Edition. For some dumb reason Warner Bros cut out some very important stuff on the theatrical cut, so the Ultimate Edition makes a lot more sense. IMO, if you like the darker DC, only watch up to Zack Snyder’s Justice League, and maybe the first Aquaman movie, then you can stop. Everything after that is Warner trying to make DC like Marvel. I’d say, watch Man of Steel, BvS Ultimate Edition, Suicide Squad Extended Cut, Wonder Woman, Zack Snyder’s Justice League, and maybe Aquaman. You can stop after that. 💙

Man of Steel is a great movie and I'm glad you've enjoyed it. The film does have two sequels which you should watch: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Ultimate Edition(2016) - This is Man of Steel 2 and you shouldn't let the bad reviews from critics(should called them influencers) prevent you from watching it. It is a good movie. The Ultimate Edition is the Director's Cut. The theatrical cut is fine but the Ultimate Edition has more story and far better pacing. It picks up directly from the climax of Man of Steel. Zack Snyder's Justice League(2021) - That is the the full title and it is 4 hours long. Picks up directly from Batman v Superman. It is Man of Steel 3. Avoid the theatrical cut from 2017 as that was the butchered studio version where they had Avengers director Joss Whedon reshoot the movie to make it more like a Marvel movie. The SnyderCut(ZSJL) is the only version to watch and it exist because of the resilient and persistent fans that campaign for it for 4 years until WB greenlit it back in 2020 allowing Snyder to complete his vision for the film. There is a a lot of studio politics, meddlesome producers, and the zeitgeist at the time with Marvel's dominance that derailed the DC Extended Universe. I won't go on in detail of the behind the scenes drama. It is a long story. Currently the DC fanbase is fracture and divided because of the constant over 'correction' to appease the geek/nerd culture and critics(again should be call influencers) that complain about Snyder's more mythic take on the DC Superheroes. The theatrical cut of Justice League dubbed Josstice League by fans is really were the downfall of the DCEU began. And the current heads of WBD, still chasing after the MCU's past glories, are repeating the same mistakes again making a reprobate and his handler the heads of DC Studios. I'll explain what the DC Extended Universe was supposed to be under Zack Snyder. Zack wanted to do 5 films that would be the main story. Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, Zack Snyder's Justice League, and then Justice League 2 and 3. There would be spinoffs films(like Wonder Woman and Suicide Squad) that would be set within the same universe that would have connected on a thematic level with one another. All of this with Superman as the main central hero that directly and indirectly affected the world, the people, Heroes and villains around him. That was the original intention of the DCEU after 2017 it went in a different direction. Zack considers his 3 films(Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, Zack Snyder's Justice League) to be completely separate from the DCEU. Some of Zack's fans have dubbed this the SnyderVerse. Many fans have hope that Zack will complete his 5 film Superman epic in the future. Zack clearly wants to them and has said if Netflix were to obtain the rights he would make them. Let's hope cooler heads prevail. A side note: Don't let any of today's so-called movie critics prevent you from checking any movie that might interest you. A lot of today's critics aren't really critics they are influencers. They try to dictate the movie tastes of the general audiences. Sites RottenTomatoes and MetaCritic are manipulated by critics(influencers and shills) and PR firms to sway public opinion. An article last year detailed this titled "The Decomposition of Rotten Tomatoes". Don't let sites like that nor any critic/shill/influencer steer you away from any movie you have interest in otherwise you may miss out on movies you will probably like and connect with.

I really liked this movie. I had previously seen the Christopher Reeve Superman movies back in the day and they were good as well (at least 1 & 2; 3 & 4 not so much IMO) but this one was up there in my book. They also paid tribute to Christopher Reeve in this movie with a brief cameo of Christopher's face when Superman was standing in the light under the machine he was about to destroy. If you look at his face they briefly superimposed Christopher's face onto Henry. It was a a nice homage to the late Christopher Reeve. You should check out Batman v Superman despite it not being the greatest. It's just OK IMO but it will give you context when watching Justice League and introduce the DCEU Batman. Anyway, I like your reactions as you are genuine and have a fun attitude about it.

jonathan kent's death in this movie i know is a massive topic amongst the fans and while i personally perfer the smallville shows way of his death that he dies of a heart attack to teach clark the lesson that with all his gifts and powers he's not god, that he can't save everyone and he has to learn that lesson in a different way i appreciated that in man of steel jonathan kent felt so strongly that the world was not ready to see what his son could do cause yes clark could of saved him and everyone there, he was whiling to die to protect his sons secret to keep him safe its powerful in its own way

No! You can't skip Batman v Superman. It got bad reviews from critics. Critics aren't people. You NEED to watch Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice ULTIMATE EDITION!! It has to be the ultimate edition for better context. It's a critical movie to watch if you want to delve into Zack Snyder's Justice League. It's also important because it introduces Wonder Woman, which leads into her movie next. And if you watch the Aquaman movie, they briefly refer to what Aquaman did in Justice League helping save the world. These movies ALL interconnect. See the thing with the Kryptonians appearing "stronger" than him is due to the fact that all his life he basically just relied on his powers to fight, but they didn't have powers on Krypton, they learned fighting skills, so his raw power and reflexes weren't quite on par with their training plus powers

the only reason it's considered non canon is because WB insisted that it isn't. Even though Zack Snyder set up the entire universe. Snyder directed Man of Steel; Dawn of Justice AND Justice League. WB had actually actively tried to cancell the Snyder-cut repeatedly, but eventually failed. that's why the Snyder-cut took so long to come out. It wasn't because he made a different move, it was because WB didn't WANT his version to be seen by fans. Hey, Blue. I really liked this movie a whole lot. I thought it was fantastic, intense, and thrilling. The action sequences are exciting, the visual effects are impressive, the music score is epic, and the cast are so good in the roles, namely Henry Cavill and Amy Adams. The character of Superman is slightly interesting. It is so different, and fans of the comics were rejecting because it's a far departure from the other incarnations, particularly the original films, but I like this type of Superman. He had a rough time in his life, and as a kid he was scared and struggles how to use his powers. But when he learns to find out who he is and where does he comes from, he now becomes a hero with kind and hopeful, and the protector of the Earth. It's a really good, entertaining, summer blockbuster movie, about a man who is struggling for what it means to be human and more than human, and trying to do the right thing. I understand everyone still didn't like it, and didn't want to agree with me, but in my own opinion, it's a fun film. A enthusiastic marginal thumbs up for me on "Man of Steel". Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice is one of the greatest films in existence imo. The reason you heard that the movie is bad is because there was a push for the movie to be a failure because of the media super-inflating the opinion of a minority of audiences. What really happened-and not many people are aware of it, is that WB did not host a premiere for all the critics and celebrities, which meant they had to wait and watch it in theaters with us peasants, and they did NOT like that. Thus, they decided to review bomb the film into oblivion-some even laid out their plans of doing it and listed that very same reason for doing it on twitter before deleting the tweets (of course). And then there were two more groups that acted as supporters for their cause, albeit unbeknownst to them-the sheeple who held critics as authority figures and wanted to be hip and trendy, and the minority of people who had a valid criticism not to appreciate everything about the film who in turn felt validated by the bad reviews and went out of their way to defend said critics, celebrities, and sheeple, and THAT's what created the perfect storm! I gotta admit, their revenge on having to watch the film with us peasants worked! BUT-not everything was lost! Some sheeple and some people who didn't appreciate the film at first realized years later how good the film actually was, while others have not given this film a second chance to this day! Anyways, you should watch the film and make your own opinion though-again, a minority of people will not appreciate the movie, and you could be one of them, but at least give it a chance: the Ultimate Edition, that is, and NOT the theatrical version. A lot of the people who didn't appreciate it on theaters immediately loved the film simply by watching the Ultimate Edition, so I recommend that you watch that one!

And the JL movie from 2017 is not a trimmed version of Zack Snyder Cut... It was crap. That movie was refilmed by Joss Whedon and it completely changed the Snyder vision so it must not be seen. Christopher Reeve was a great Superman but you can keep doing a naive superhero forever. Superman is also, dark, violent, and has done harshly actions. In this Snyder's Krypton mythology, the "S" symbolise one of many Kryptonian lineage of their respective ancestral family bloodline. The S stand for the House of El....Faora's F like symbol is House of Ul, Zods symbol is the House of Zod. Jor El's wife Lara however is from the the House of Van....even though you see her dress having the S, because just like humans after marriage she carried her husband's family title. You can look up in Man of Steel symbol archives to see what Van symbol & many others looks like....and also the concept behind its Kryptonian writing systems (which you see briefly in their liquid Geo displays).

Time is actually NOT a factor with the aging in this movie. Space is EXTREMELY VAST, Trixy. Technically speaking, the event happening here on Krypton are happening when humanity on Earth are still hunting for food and building huts out os straw leaves and branches. it happened MANY thousands of years ago (possible close to about 10 or even 20 thousand years ago) Kryptonian technology folds space itself making a journey that should take millennia happen in the blink of an eye. This Space folding essentially creates wormholes where travel is accelerated WAY beyond the speed of light. So what would have been days for baby Kal El would have been thousands and thousands of years on Earth.

I always thought, when I was reading the comics, that Metropolis was more based off of Chicago 'cause in the comics, it is located in the Midwest and a large city (although it is technically been in Kansas, still it's the largest Midwest city hence why I thought of Chicago). Gotham is based off of New York because it's on the East Coast and an older city plus Gotham is actually one of the nicknames of NYC, although it's seemed to be only used as a negative description. But here, they make Gotham and Metropolis next to each other, which is weird to me.

They're all WB ips, not Disney. Disney is Marvel. Hopes this helps!😊👍 BVS the directors cut is pretty solid, don't watch the theatrical version as that version leaves a lot of context out. For Justice League watch the Zach Snyder cut is much, much better than the theatrical cut. Snydercut is non-canon but technically was supposed to be the original canon concept, sadly WB told him no and his daughter passed away during shooting so he had to leave and Josh Whedon pretty much ruined Justice League taking over of the theatrical cut trying to turn the JL into the Avengers and it failed miserably.
