John David Crow was "afflicted" with the misfortune of being drafted by the Chicago (later St Louis) Cardinals so he never got his due in the NFL. If the New York Giants had Crow in the late 1950's and early 1960's they might Have one or two of the five Championship games they lost (1958 and 59 to the Colts, 1961 and 1962 to the Packers and 1963 to the Bears). RIP to JDC - You were a great player.

Crow was definitely an excellent player. His numbers are close to Frank Gifford who had the fortune of playing for the Giants. Gifford was a better pass catcher, but Crow was a better runner out of the backfield. He is very much overlooked and is deserved of HOF membership.

Growing up on Chicago's south side I was a Cardinal fan. From my standpoint it was no "misfortune" John David was drafted by the Cardinals. He was one of my boyhood idols. He declined surgery which would have corrected his facial condition because it would have necessitated his giving up football. He was something and I'm blessed I was able to occupy this earth during his life.

@@comeacross9 I agree with you TOTALLY. I was a Tom Landry-era Dallas Cowboys fan, but John David Crow was definitely one of my boyhood NFL players. R.I.P. John David Crow🏈
