In Memory of Jeanne Cooper

Jeanne Cooper's acting career spanned sixty years and nearly forty of those were spent starring as Katherine Chancellor on The Young & The Restless. She portrayed Genoa City's Grand Dame the same way she lived her life, with passion and brutal honesty.
I've watched The Young & The Restless for many years and, like so many, consider the cast a sort of extended family. We fans have lost a beloved character but her children have lost their mother and I offer them my sympathy for their loss, my admiration for the grace and dignity with which they handled this painful chapter and my gratitude for allowing us all inside as this beautiful soul transitioned from this plane to the next.

I've been a avid veiwer of this show since day one and they all seem like family. My grandmother passed away in 85 and I'm sure she is in line in heaven to visit with her Ms. Chancellor. My grandmother would get so mad with Jill that I thought she'd have a heart attack. R.I.P. Jeanne you are loved and missed immensley.

in her younger days, she was knock out. and even before we lost her. she was still Beautiful inside and out. Man, I am going to miss her. I'm having a hard time facing the fact that she's gone. I've been watching Y&R since day and I watched as the originals matured and grew. the man that plays Paul grew from a teen to a young man. for example.

I haven't heard about a tribute from Y&R yet, but doing an online search brings up a lot of opinion (some of it from "insiders") that the "goodnight" between Katherine and Jill is in fact Jeanne Cooper's final scene and that Katherine will pass on in her sleep. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
