Solid man! The Axe Fx is amazing, however we must all keep in mind that its more the player's talent and not so much the mere tone despite what tool is being used. In this case, the player has awesome talent.

Is the AxeFx2 the same as a Friedman BE? No, it's not. But it's very, very close. Close enough that the audience couldn't care less. Also, the AxeFx can sound like a Twin, a Dumble, a Trainwreck, a Matchless....pretty much every amp you can think of...plus every effect you can think of. It's the ultimate combination of flexibility and great sounds. Now IF I was a touring pro and money was no object, sure, I'd take a Friedman - along with my AxeFx2 and enjoy the best of both worlds.

mark awesome ..if i want to get those sounds and van halen, def leppard, motley crue etc.....which model to i get?......i went to your web site but im somewhat confused.......i dont have a amp/cabinet either.....been playing through the software on the desktop computer using ....amplitude, etc

Very nice! I keep watching all your videos with the 80's metal: round and round, bark at the moon, etc. I have a request: could you play sweet leaf (black sabbath) or a song from iron maiden (like revelations or the prisoner)? Thanks for the videos you make.

Big fan of your channel, I've been eyeballing that Axcess for a while now. The debate of having a FR equipped LP rages on but I was curious. Finally got a chance to play an Epiphone Nightfall and I completely get it now. The FR and locking nut adds so much sustain to a guitar already known for tone and sustain. I know it's not a fair comparison between Epi & Gibson, but the results are pretty much the same. Let the purists have their hard tail guitars, love the LP's with Floyds now. You inspired me to think outside the box and be open minded, thank you!!

Hey Mark..In your opinion does the Axe 2 sound better in terms of tone and effects than the Ultra? Considering theres 2 designated DSPs in the Axe 2, 1 segregated to tone, and the other segregated to effects? And only 1 in the Ultra designated to both. Im on the verge of the AXE investment so since I know you have owned both, I value the opinion. Thanks brotha, keep ROKKEN with DOKKEN..lol

Hi Mark! Awesome crunchy tone! I just bought the Ax8. What amp, drive, delay settings did you use? Is this tone in the Axechange? Can I use this in the Ax8? Thanks!

The Friedman HBE preset should get you there. I used it or very similar for everything. Or like this one: axechange.fractalaudio.com/detail.php?preset=5711

You guys and your ears. The Axe Fx II is a beast and so is the Brown Eye. You wouldn't be able to tell the difference in a blind test. I know because I nave fooled many of you fools many times. STFU and play your guitar. Mr. Day sounds fantastic whether he is playing a Friedman, an Axe-Fx, or a washboard.

After listening over and over to both this version and the Friedman version, it is clear to me that IMO, sims still have a LONG way to go. Axe just cannot hang with a real tube amp. The dynamics, compression, clarity are so much better on the real amp. The Axe sounds great, don't get me wrong, but doesn't hold a candle to that Friedman BE100.
@kommi197410 жыл бұрын
Ryan F I have played and tried out the Axe. I was very underwhelmed. Perhaps after 25 years of playing in a live environment, and recording, I have developed an ear for these types of things. The Axe sounds great, I admit it, but it is EASILY decipherable between the real, living, organic breathing tube amp that it is trying to emulate. Key word is "trying". Digital, no matter how good or far technology advances, simply cannot replicate the nuances of a tube amp. If you like the Axe, more power to you. Any musician worth his weight does not perform live with an Axe, Kemper, etc. Some do, but MOST would never. Even Pete Thorn, who has an Axe, uses his tube amps live, including his fly gigs. The Axe, Kemper, etc. modelers are trying to reinvent something that cannot be reinvented. While there is certainly a market for them, it will only be to a small percentage and is more appealing to the younger generation who is so hungry for digital this and digital that.
@Tonicstud10 жыл бұрын
Ryan F I have both (axe fx 2 and BE100 Friedman) and the BE100 is THE amp Axe fx 2 is great but in a direct comparaison, the feeling is really better on the real amp. After two years on the axe I think it was a little boring to play with it.
@36hunters10 жыл бұрын
kommi1974 Some of the greatest players today with an Axe FX live? Are they not worth their weight? Besides no one will tell the difference between tube or digital live anyway, the stage and setting will be noisy that to the musicians and the technicians digital vs tube would be the least of their worries. Not to mention digital is more reliable, flexible, easier to set-up and with many more possibilities.

Quit playing guitar, go grab a sax and let your ears free....
@ManofWar5510 жыл бұрын
36hunters Recording with modelers is awesome, but playing live with them is a totally different story. Use an Axe-FX with a Friedman model live, then use a Friedman BE-100 with a 4x12 and tell me there's no difference. Entirely different animal man. Nothing beats the real thing.
@zebulonluce15599 жыл бұрын
