I'm just sobbing my way through this vlog, don't mind me. That poem was beautiful; Steve's feelings really shone through those words even if told from Rocko's perspective. I'm very glad you were able to go back and surprise your parents & your grandmother. ❤

Just about cried through this entire episode. Grandparents are so special. My moms mom is my only living grandparent and since i got married im two hours away from her now, but make sure to try and see her as much as i can. I know your grandmother will remember that forever. ❤️ And then that poem, my goodness! You really do have such a special family. ❤️

It's moments like these that you realize how much days like these are so important. Take the time you have to talk and spend time with the ones you love because you never know when the next moment is available to do that.

Take these moments when you can, Stephen. I regret not having more time with most of my grandparents, I only have one left in my life and try to have times with her now. Things can normally be put off till the next day, but family matters most of all. I cried when your Dad read that poem. He has such a creative soul and I see where you get your creativity from.

Honestly, it’s incredible how the days where Stephen films so little turn out to be my favorite days. Sometimes I get worried people in today’s age forget to put down the camera and live in the moment, but Stephen knows when to make the distinction. Glad you had an amazing day this day Stephen.

This was an amazing vlog. I am not afraid to say I teared up at your mother's joy and at your father's poem. Reminds me of my own sweet dog who ran straight at me when I went to visit the litter to pick out a pup. He ended up choosing me ❤

I genuinely teared up at your Dad's poem. You can truly feel the love through it. I've never known the pain of losing a pet but I know the joy of loving one and feeling that love back. Pet's really are a wonderful gift to us

Hi, Stephen. I'm late catching up on vlogs, and haven't been commenting as I do so - but I want to say something here. I'm in floods of tears listening to Papa Georg's poem, and in seeing Rocko's ashes and favourite toy on the mantle. He was a very lucky cat, being able to spend his life with such a wonderful family. And I mean your friends, too, whenever they visited your parents - you all have such good bonds and I'm truly grateful that you share so much with your viewers. Rocko knows he was loved. Wishing all the best to you and yours, Stephen and co.

I commented on the vlog where Rocko passed away that my fluffy boi was on his way out and I'm sad to say that we had to make The Hardest Decision a few days ago. Just like you and Rocko, my dog started out as 'my' pet but eventually he became the replacement for me to my mum and grandma at home once I moved out. So your dad's poem really resonated with me, since it reminds me so much of my situation. Like I said on the Rocko vlog, I just wanna thank you for sharing these experiences. I think I would have handled the grief a lot differently had I not seen you go through the stages so candidly and showing moments like this. It really helps. Wonderful words from Papa Georg!

I legit cried when Steve read the poem, it was truly beautiful to hear. Made me remind myself of when I lost my two cats and how I had felt at the time. Also seeing how happy your grandma was Stephen, was such a sweet and caring moment. Like yourself I only have one grandparent left, my mum's mum and unfortunately she's been suffering from dementia lately. And although I don't get along with my mum for personal reasons, that's never stopped me from seeing my grandma as she never treated me differently.

A very heartwarming episode. I used to write a poem I knew for someone that had died. I really struggled. I knew her, but I also didn't know her all that well. But there was someone who was quite impressed with it, even though everyone was emotional. Guy hugged me, we were friends since early on. She wasn't a part of my family, even.

My childhood cat chose us, she was a neighborhood stray and for some reason my stepdad had the front door open and she just walked right in. That was probably back in 2008, and she passed away summer of 2020. I keep her in my heart, and also use her name for my security codes since I'm the only one who referred to her by her full name XD

I feel very emotional. I'm still working my way through 2018 on the journey, I mostly check in to the current vlogs periodically. Somehow I missed the Rocko vlog so I did not actually know about what happened. And watching this vlog, it didn't hit me until your father's poem was being read and I realized I hadn't seen Rocko this vlog. He was a beautiful, wonderful cat and just like when Sagan passed, it honestly feels like I lost my own cat. I'm sure many viewers feel the same way, you see the people of the vlog so much and even the pets and you feel like you gain a connection with them. Rest in peace, Rocko.

This vlog was so wholesome and lovely. Did my heart some good. Early in June I was actually able to drive back home to NJ with Reid (my 6yo son, for those in the comments unfamiliar with me) to surprise my stepmom on her 77th birthday. I brought my homemade curry with me because I wanted to make my stepmom and dad a nice dinner; my dad suggested the curry because she's allergic to coconut and can't handle very spicy things, so she doesn't eat it very often. Surprises are nice, for those who like them. Surprise people more often, when you can. ❤
