In my life (Beatles) analysis DID THEY KNOW WHAT THEY WERE DOING?

I feel like I learn something new about songwriting every time I listen and analysis to 'In My Life' by the Beatles. This John Lennon song is a perfect chord progression with many twists and turn (and lots of leading tones). What can we learn from it? When doing the analysis I learned that there was so much to learn that I only had time to talk about 4 bars of the chord progression. There is so much to learn!

i did,,i started a beatles copy band in 1976 age12 with twisted hands that didant even open (thankfuly that opened my left hand) they teach us we can do it,,i never learnt music thery,,but that never stopped me,,

ok there is something deeper too,,enlightenments in songwriting...adding the spiritual things we learn into our songs,,you see its upto song writers to find deeper meanings and answers to age old questions like our loves.to see it and say it in a different way than has been before..heres one of mine..... not i see the love in your eyes but "your love is reaching out,from the silence in your soul"

It really is a craft, that’s why I don’t really like it when people think that it’s just a natural talent that certain people have and others don’t, it sort of diminishes how talented these people are, making out it’s a natural talent and nothing to do with them (if that makes sense)
