Let me know some points resonated with you ♡ Are you in your "long term protective style era"?✨ what's style are you rockin with?

i wanted to do mini-twists, but they unravelled too quickly. changed to 3 strand twists, but it still didn't click. then i ended up doing braids (without extensions) with beads. i can keep these in for like 8 weeks (washing in between obvi) and i feel like even when they get old and slightly messy, the beads still leave them looking nice

yup same here i am also waiting my hair to grow till my waist length... during day time i wear a bun and in night time i braid my hair doesnt matter i am going out or staying in my home. rn my hair is arm pit lenght . i always protect my hair bcoz due to the pollution and the humidity my hair gets frizzy in the end . and dont worry there is nothing shameful about it .

That braid is my goal too! I love that you showed 22nd Century Woman. She’s my hair goals.

Omg! Yes, the braid though! And yes, she's amazing! Hair goals fs. Love her mindset even outside of hair as well.

I’m currently rocking mini braids with my natural hair, planning on wearing them for a year to see how much length I retain, currently 2 months in and am loving it.

You can keep mini brains s in for that long???
@chloefaircloth64485 ай бұрын
@yone_honey8084 I wear natural mini braids and keep them for 2 months straight. Then re-do them.

We are in the same boat. I too have mini braids and planing to keep it in till December 😅

How do you prevent your hair from locking up together?
@chloefaircloth64485 ай бұрын
@Jdavismoranti I have 4c hair, and mini braids just dont lock that quick. Mini TWISTS lock up fast asf though! Things I do: keep hair moisturized and use products with slip. Moisture and slippery products make the braids less likely to lock(in MY experience), because it makes it easier for the hair strands to glide past each other. Also, shampooing braids at the scalp keep the roots from getting knots. Those knots come from sweat/sebum build-up, so shampooing regularly is key

there is so much honesty in this video it's actually shocking me to my core. you're saying what a lottttt of people feel deep inside. i finally got a long solo braid that beats against my back when I'm running and it gives me a feeling I can't even put words to. Never heard another person say exactly what I feel outloud. Also your voice and cadence is very soothing and relaxing.

Aww, I appreciate your comment! You're living my dream with that long solo braid! haha! Love that for you ♡ I'm glad you resonated with this; I wasn't sure what points would land for people and cut back some to keep it a nice length. I want to create a space where we can unpack these things.

I keep my hair in mini braids and treat it like locs. That way I can still have fun (styling) along the journey to TBL.

Love that! Sounds like you're really enjoying your journey with styling and such!

I'm also 100% in my long term protective style era, I'm addicted to protective styling and seeing the retained length. I'm at +- nipple length in about 2.5 years, aiming for waist length in less than 4 years. I know that sounds... extreme, but it is what it is.
@victoriasvibesss5 ай бұрын
yasss 💪🏽yea, sounds like realistic time frame to reach your goals, and you know what you're in for! Now that you mention it, nip length is my next goal, too (4 inches away). It'll be so worth it in the end, sis! ♡
@VideoSiteAccess4 ай бұрын
I don’t think that’s extreme. If anything I believe you’ll reach that in half the time.

Love this video cuz somebody got to say it! I wear textured wigs only when I go out… my stocking cap is silk yup! Everyday when I’m home it’s me and my 6 month old mini twist with my silk scrunchie (no combs/brushes) 😂 that’s why I feel like everybody should mind they business. Currently at bra strap… next it’s waist length!!!

Lol, right!? Let's keep it pushing. And, love that for you!

That’s how I feel right now. I’m looking to kinky coily clips in. Eventually I’ll straighten my hair but right now I’m working on the health of my hair first!

i was thinking that cause the sew ins are great but this leave out maintenance is not something you can neglect. closures might be my next go to protective style

@@tuffrydaI got a closure sew in installed in march and still have it in!!! Literally the best hair decision I’ve made for a while.

i lost 6 inches of hair in front from wearing it out in buns and cute styles. I was livid. Now my hair is in long term protectove style until its at a length where i dont need to use gel and do too much to put it back. Sometimes i do think about if my.mom cared for my hair i would have gotten to enjoy long hair long ago
@victoriasvibesss5 ай бұрын
Ugh, that's the worst. Yea, those buns will get ya when you constantly wear it. I'm glad you made that pivot to protect your hair to reach your goals ♡ And, I know, right, it's like, where would we all be? lol But it's a beautiful journey, and we've come far ❤️ I love the shift that's been happening in the online yt natural movement too lately.

Can u make video as well on how you were able to grow your hair and keep it moisturized with added extensions cuz that’s something I’m interested in trying out as well 😊
@victoriasvibesss5 ай бұрын
Yes! For now I have some videos you can check out, like my wash & moisture routine video or my 2024 hair challenge video that goes in depth about protective styling for 4 months. I'll make one more specifically for moisturizing knotless braids with extensions, though. Thanks for the video idea and for watching ❤
