there's so many artists that are trying to capture this specific sound of early 2000's emo/alt music and don't really hit the mark, but honestly Julia hit it out of the park with this! i literally feel like i heard this song back in 2007 in a sad naruto shipping amv (specifically sasusaku if u know u know)

Break ups be damned. I am the youngest sister. Watching your siblings take their belongings from your room, your home, seeing them less, becoming distant. This song captures the pain of getting left behind. There's no going back.

At first, I wasn’t feeling this as much as Wishbone or Burning House, as far as her newest songs were concerned. But then, I listened to this a few more times back to back, headphones in one moment, bumping to it with the windows rolled down in another… And I’m OBSESSED. It’s got such an “old” or early 2000s vibe and sound to it that works so damn well, and it’s just as raw and passionately intimate as Wishbone and Burning House are. Julia LITERALLY hasn’t made a bad song yet, dude.
@allhershadows5 күн бұрын
so many singers are switching from singing over beat loops to full band arrangement, but julia gets something right that none of the others do: THE BACKING MIX IS LOUD ENOUGH. the fact shes playing with a band comes through in the sound and the vocals sound like another instrument in the mix not just dominating. also shout out the guitar lead in that last bit of the song god i love this so much

Like many others said, this song has an incredibly nostalgic vibe. It has an essence that not many other bands are able to capture today. This was the first song I heard by Julia Wolf and was surprised when listening to her older stuff that she has gone into a darker rock vibe. I really hope she continues with this sound and will be checking out any new releases by her! I also love these "slice of life" type music videos where it's just the band hanging out living life. It's always nice to see and adds to the music. These videos and tour vids are always my favorite. Song of the year for me!

I can hear how much care has gone into this song, it makes me so happy to hear amazing music like this. This is such a beautiful arrangement and the music fits the lyrics and emotions so well. There is so much artistic talent and expression on display, and every lyric and note is so intentional in its tone and sound. The fragile timbre of your voice, the duality of the delicate and crushing tones of the guitars creating an ebb and flow between the grief, anger, sorrow, and pain of the portrayed experience, while preserving a beautiful harmony that subtly changes keeping the song interesting and engaging throughout. It doesn't try to overstay its welcome, it says what it wants to say, conveys what it wants to, and leaves. Thank you for creating something beautiful. Definitely a new favorite. Amazing job on the mix as well.

I think about Rebecca's death from HTGAWM listening to this. I'm not too far into the show yet (maybe season 3) but her and Wes really never had a fighting chance in hell. She died for something she was a victim to as well at the end of the day.

I'm sorry I hurt you like I did. I was young and immature, which I know isn't an excuse. You were hurts and going through a lot and I just made it worse. I hope you were able to leave your mom's and get your own place where you can truly be yourself and be happy, because that's what you deserve. It won't be with me like we thought and it never will be. I hope no one hurts you like I did..
