Keith you did such a beautiful job on that 7A steam plant, it's a shame the dismantle it--you put in so many hours.

Without knowing the full particulars of your fire tube boiler, I can assure that in industry there were many "Underfired, fire tube boilers". This type of plant was once common, and could be found burning solid fuel, liquid or gas. I remember sticking my head in a rural hospital boiler house and there were two of these. The attendant hand stoking billets of wood as required. The only sound being basically the click of the water pump as it changed direction.

Personally I have never seen a boiler design quite like this in the UK, especially in model form.

Yes it does indeed, that's where the steam plant came from.

@@keithappleton Your welcome,that's what you get from a lifetime spent in precision engineering I guess & a father who was a design engineer & among other things designed the fuel tanks for the TSR2.
