Taking inspiration from Maya Angleou’s poem of the same name, costume designer Mariana Guerrero Dingler and writer/actor Ajani Russell imagine a woman caught between the daily grind and the optimism of the weekend for short film Weekend Glory.
A creative collaboration that begins on the streets and subway platforms of New York City, Weekend Glory follows its lead from the gray monotony of her working life, to the vibrant technicolor that takes hold with the weekend - and her refusal to be worn down once this state of joy sets in.
